But the truth is the Kings didn't play any better tonight than they did during the 1-7 streak.

was gonna say whoa, what a good interview, you would never guess it's the same dude on the ice. Very thoughtful, precious few cliches, charismatic/good presence.

People are being positive about this game because of the result.

But the truth is the Kings didn't play any better tonight than they did during the 1-7 streak.

TM said as much too.

They probably deserved a better result in those games but you are what the standings say you are. If they can start getting on the RIGHT side of those one-goal games, sure, it looks very different. But until proven wrong over a longer stretch, they're still the team giving up goals in the last seconds (almost happened twice tonight!), early, in bunches, and being unable to win special teams battles.

The biggest difference in wins and losses right now is Quick playing at an unsustainably good level and Petersen playing at a (I believe) unsustainably not good level.

And both the goals against were deflections.
