Adn to answer why he's still in we have AZ on a back to back tomorrow so probably already had this game written off anyway and letting Cal work through it. Patrick Roy his ass, let him sort it out, smoke the whole pack of cigarettes at once, etc. Don't want to bring in Quick in today and let him pitch on short rest tomorrow. Might have been better if we had a lead or tie going into the 3rd, but down...

No "bad" goals allowed, just hasn't made a big save to cover for a series of individual errors by Brown, Bjornfot, and a Kopitar/Anderson combo.
He hasn’t gotten a lot of help. This is a game where your goalie needs to step up and bail you out. Just not a lot of confidence in Cal. Seems like an average goalie lately.

It's a game where you feel any shot they take can go in. From anywhere. He's f***ing garbage today yet here we are
Well, one was tipped in by Bjornfot, one was a double tip, and two were essentially breakaways off of turnovers. None were bad goals, its not like he is whiffing at shots from distance. He just hasn't made the huge save to turn the tide.

Why would Tmac go with Cal in this game? Quick has been clearly better this season, and I would've thought he had earned this start. No? Unless this was a test of Cals mental toughness, I don't understand the logic. In big games you go with your best & hottest players. Cal is neither.

Honesty asking as I can't remember, but has he ever looked more than average at any time with LA? I know in the A he was really good.

It's not Cal's fault, I would be thinking about how to spend my 15 million coming my way too.

I don't blame Anderson too bad for getting walked, kid is still a kid and is working things out. He's still playing very well for what he is overall.

Lets not kid ourselves if we picked Necas instead of Vilardi whomever the Canes pick after us would be beastin and Necas would be sent down to the A.

We kept Cal, and let Campbell go. Blake strikes again.

Stop it. Campbell is 3 years older, and the Kings were/are rebuilding. Every older player that could be moved, was going to be moved. It's literally all we talked about for years.

Whether or not Petersen is the guy to count on going forward, that's a solid question, but don't even start with they should've kept Campbell. Not in Feb 2020. It wasn't going to happen. Quick was unfortunately untradeable, Petersen was younger, Campbell had to go. End of story. No GM would've been able to do anything different. It's not Blake strikes again. Just no.

Yes, in small sample sizes, but in his first two years he was damn near unstoppable and even last year he had a .940 for like 20 games before the entire team unraveled.

I know this forum has a short memory but come on. The smaller sample size so far has been his struggle. It was clear he was getting the contract on his first 2/3 games rather than last 1/3 and ahope he would bounce back. It's unfortunate that thus far he has yet to do it--but let's not pretend there was ZERO reason for his support.

Edit: but also it's good this forum is seeing what a battler they had in Quick, for all the times talking shit about him, there's not a mentally tougher goalie in the game. Cal might be more towards the opposite end.

I posted here or lakingsinsider yesterday "I hope Kempe scores 3 goals the next 2 games so we never see 23 on line 1 again"
Well, he's going to get 1 or 2 more this weekend. I think it's safe that 23 never gets higher than line 3.

Thanks for great memories, Dustin. Can never hate you. I just cannot see him finishing out the season, though.

Glad Clague is hanging in there and doing good....if Durzi goes tomorrow, please let it be MMAATTAA that sits. Want to see Lias and / or Grundstrom in tomorrow.

This, Cal put up great numbers the last 2 years

Arizona is a conference game tomorrow. A game that might be a must win with a couple tough games coming up in the next few weeks.

4 total goals in the first period, 5 in the second shall we see 6.....all from the Canes.

drives me crazy how edler NEVER makes a pass when he steps up and skates past the blue line, no matter how many options he always dumps

You think Brown will call it career during the season?
