He looked really good with Nick and Drouin. He had 9 goals in his first 13 games. 16 points in his first 25 games. I’d say that’s solid.

When did it start going downhill? *Gasp* when he was put with Danault and KK. What a surprise. Danault who only does dump and chase and KK who takes 10 seconds to decide what to do with the puck then lose it.
I am probably wrong but I could see Anderson scoring 30 one day under the right scenario

They are so MANY combination possible... An other one that I like if Perreault can play center

Toffoli-Suzuki-Caufield
They prove during the playoff that they can be an effective line, so we need to at least start with them

Hoffman-Dvorak-Anderson
That's the line that I'm the less sure about. Anderson can carry the puck in the Ozone and with Dvorak and Anderson in front of the net, there will have some trafic in front of the net when Hoffman will shoot. The thing that botter me is who will feed Hoffman

Lehkonen-Evans-Gallagher
Our checking line who will face the tough minutes and I do think Gally can produce even on this line

Drouin-Perreault-Armia
Drouin and Armia show some chemistry in the past (Drouin played is best with Armia) and Perreault have skills to play with Drouin. They will face easier match up so they could make damage

TSN Grading wingers on all Canadian teams. Makes no sense.

Travis Yost: Grading the wingers on Canada’s NHL teams - TSN.ca

None of the rankings in that series of articles made sense. It said the leafs have A+ Centres, A+ Dcore, and A wingers. But they can't win a playoff round.

It also had Dermott better than any Dman on the Habs roster other than I think Petry.

Chiarot and Savard are apparently 7/8 dmen who shouldn't be in the league despite Chiarot play 25 minutes on a cup finalist team and Savard playing 14 on the cup winner and arguably best team of the salary cap era.

It's entirely analytics based which is very flawed in hockey at the current time. I literally do stats work as a huge part of my job and the wannabe stats people in hockey media are often very bad at it. The teams internal guys are prbly a different story though.

Do we have the deepest wing depth in the league?

Caufield, Gallagher, Anderson, Armia, Toffoli, Drouin, Hoffman, Lehkonen, and Byron.

And no way Winnipeg is only 4th when they are probably in the top 5 in the entire league for there winger with guys like Connor/Wheeler/Ehlers and with depth player like Copp

Normand Flynn aka Nostradamus believe Cole Caufield is going to start on the 4th line for the season opener.

If he can do that this year, he is going to be a very complete powerforward and that's going to make this team so much better.

I would have him with Suzuki and Caufield. His toughness and size help protect them and I think Anderson gets motivated playing with them.

Hopefully he can. I'm not sure how much I'd bet a 27 year old will be able to improve such a fundamental part of their game, but who knows.

The thing I could see him improving on is his 2 way play. Anderson is a fairly mediocre to average player in his own end. He isn't good or terrible he's kinda just meh.

This is an area that most often can be improved as players get older and could be huge for him.

Ya, that's the area older players tend to improve on, since a lot of defensive play is based on reading plays which comes from experience. I'm not sure I buy Anderson improving in that area, but its more believable than him suddenly becoming a much better playmaker.

One thing that Montreal better hope Anderson does (if his contract isn't going to become a complete albatross) is get more consistency. Because Anderson's stats kind of miss the fact that he's either has a dominant impact on the game or is basically not on the ice. I'd rather see less of the former if it led to less of the latter.

Its why, even at 7 less inches, Gallagher is still a significantly better player. Because even when Gallagher isn't scoring, he's doing good things everywhere on the ice.

This line gets all the offensive opportunities. Thrived in the playoffs together.

Drouin-Dvorak-Gallagher
This line gets the tough matchups. Drouin is the puck carrier and hopefully plays well enough defensively to make this line works.

Hoffman-Perreault-Anderson
Perreault is a good player, underestimated. This line has to be a bit sheltered because Anderson and Hoffman are not very good defensively

Lekhonen-Evans-Armia
Luxury 4th line.

Anderson was pretty solid defensively under Torts in Columbus, he was one of their top penalty killers...

It's true that he kinda looked lost out there sometimes while playing for us, maybe he didn't get the system at 100% yet. Weird to be honest.

I expect him to do a lot better this season in his own zone.

IMO he lacks the agility (stick & skating) to be effective in 1v1. This is way more apparent in even strength defence, compared to PK where it’s more about positioning then 1v1.
