There once was a kid named, Arty
He'd score goals and fans would party
Don't feed him bean burritos
Cause that makes him farty.

I was off to good start but lost interest.
FTFY...

If you feed him a burrito with beans
It'll blow a hole thru the back of his jeans
Cause that makes him farty.

Now that is some f***ing poetry.

If Vilardi pushes Danault down to 4C you can always trade Danault, with retention if need be.
.
No you can’t. Not only did the Kings overpay for a 4C defensive specialist as soon as next season, they gave him a no movement clause for the first three seasons. I know many of you were all excited about this signing, but we might very well be regretting it in 12 months.

I’m thoroughly impressed with how aggressively wrong you’ve managed to be here.

I guess we will just see which center is third in scoring this season. Next season I think it’s safe to say that Byfield will make the team. At that point, it’s not hard to see how Danault might be the fourth highest scoring center on the team. Had Byfield not broken his ankle, this scenario might very well have played out this season.

Players will move to wing, relieving the logjam. This usually happens with teams.

Look at TB last year, for example:

Point
Gourde
Stamkos
Killorn
Coleman

Cirelli
Johnson

All centers. Bolded guys played on the wing.

Vilardi's only real concern here is the logjam in front of him up the middle. He is not a 4c, and if you are going to convert him to wing you have to also consider moving him for a better winger.

What logjam?

Vilardi is more creative in his young years than Kopitar ever was.
He showed fantastic playmaking abilities when he finally had people who know that a hockey rink has a 2nd end, where the opponent goal is located.
Danauld is not a hockey player and will find himself on line 3 or 4 very soon.

If anyone should be concerned it's our old youngsters like Kempe, Wagner, Dolan etc. they play them self out of the league if they are not picking up major speed

One of Turcotte or Vilardi will eventually have to shift to wing, or be traded for help on the wings.

Only a few years of Kopitars retirement contract left, and the keys are gonna be turned over to byfield at that point.

Byfield
Turcotte/Vilardi
Danault
JAD

That has the potential to be a killer center lineup, which will be a tough matchup for any team. Danault is here to fill the 2012 Jarrett Stoll slot, at least when the team is competitive.

No. Just f***ing no.

I was going to go with ‘Danauld is not a hockey player’ but I like yours, too.

With $22 million in cap space next season, notable free agents are: Kempe, Tkachev, Vilardi, Lias Andersson and Mikey Anderson. A lot has to go right for us to use $22 million on them, but for every dollar we spend on them is a dollar we lose to acquire a big time LHD.
Kempe, Mike Andersson and a two first round picks for a young LHD. Problem solved.

If anyone's going to be moving to wing, it's probably Danault. He's played plenty of left wing thus far in his career. He's gifted offensively as a playmaker, although his bread and butter is his defense. Still, I would love to see this line in the future:

Danault - Kopitar - Iafallo

Good luck scoring on that.

That is a dream 1 goal lead unit!
