Monten need to be axed soon, he is destroying very good junior groups.Montén. Sweden's international junior coaches aren't known for being even as good as mediocre, and Montén is a prime example of what's wrong with them.
Doesn't matter. When the contract is up he can just re-sign himself. Like he has done before.Monten need to be axed soon, he is destroying very good junior groups.
How many years left of his contract?
I can’t watch the SHL. So all I can do is look at stats:
Of all PLAYERS (not just D) under the age of 20 in the SHL, Soderstrom is tied for 6th in scoring.
Among D he’s 2nd. And he’s only played 13 games. The guy ahead of him has played 22.
Soderstrom has 7 points in 13 games. 2g and 5a. Filip Broberg who was taken 8h overall has 2 points (no goals) in 22 games.
Beoberg’s team has scored 62 goals in 22 games and is in 7th place. Soderberg’s team has scored 49 goals and is in 10th place.Three leading scorers in Broberg’s team have 20pts, 20pts and 15pts. On Soderstrom’s team they have 15, 13 and 10.
So what gives? Why no invite for Soderstrom?

Atleast he has won somethingyes but when he finally leaves it will be Magnus Hävelid that gets his job.
2p in 22 games on a high scoring team isnt good.Broberg's skating and creativity makes him a player that belongs on the team. I understand the reactions to Söderström's snub, but have to agree that your anger should be directed elsewhere.
Scoring isn't everything.2p in 22 games on a high scoring team isnt good.
He hasnt looked good either.Scoring isn't everything.

They were drafted three spaces apart last year. They’ll be compared forever? Why do you compare Broberg with Söderström? Its Ginning who is worst defender on the team not Broberg.
I’m not angry. I’m looking for information. From people who actually watch these kids play. I’m certainly not angry with Broberg let alone anyone else.Broberg's skating and creativity makes him a player that belongs on the team. What ability? He has size, and that's it.I've seen a few of his international games, he's looked solid for the type of game he plays. I don't mind the add. Sweden's trying to win the tourny right now, not put together the best future NHL team. I actually think having Ginning on this roster as a shutdown D makes Sweden a better team. They need his size, and his ability to stop some of these power lines on the big boys.

So Broberg is a good skater? I’ve seen that before at international tournaments I’ve watched and I agree. He’s a great skater. I think he’s probably a good pick for the team.
I’m still not sure why Soderberg might be excluded though. That’s what I’m hoping to find out. From SHL fans, specifically.
He looked great in the NHL pre-season.I think the politics (or is strategies a better word?) of how these WJC teams are usually built plays an important part. Returning players usually have good chances at being selected next year as well. For Sweden, that means that 5 defencemen might return for the upcoming WJCs.
I've seen several Brynäs games this season and don't think Söderström has done anything wrong that motivates his exclusion. Victor might not be that noticeable on the ice since he plays a smart and mature game; I can't remember thinking he has looked out of place in the SHL.
The expert doesn't sound very much like an expert.
WJSS Arizona declined for him, and then during the 4-nations in August he was at their camp. So that leaves 1 tournament he personally could have declined: the november one. Guess what happened there? He accepted and then got injured so they had to replace him.
You want information. Swedish media says it is a personal grudge between soderstrom and monten.I’m not angry. I’m looking for information. From people who actually watch these kids play. I’m certainly not angry with Broberg let alone anyone else.

Monten is doing the same thing with gunler.
Interesting. Thanks! You want information. Swedish media says it is a personal grudge between soderstrom and monten.

Gunler has been a regular in shl and has no pronlem with his coach.Interesting. Thanks!
Gunler has had some issues with coaching before, right? I thought I read that somewhere.
Odd that Soderstrom would be in the same position. His coaches on Brynas were absolutely gushing about his coachability and leadership qualities and hard work during his draft year. Chayka cites all of those things when he traded a 2nd round pick to move up a few spots and draft him.
