Sorry, I'm sure you've addressed this before, but is your notables just players you like/find intriguing, or is it also players who's ranking you find surprising/interesting?
It's crazy how he discounted Byfield like that. Byfield is the clear 2.He's no Joe Flacco, but man is he making that 67s guy look stupid! Not wavering, he's definitely my #2 after Laf, Button can shove it!

That was Jack Quinn, whats this from anyway? Practice before the game?
Lafreniere and Byfield belong in the same tier.
Byfield's numbers are actually better than Lafreniere's at the same age (17YR old season). He has 63P/33GP (1.91 PPG), while Lafreniere had 105P/61GP (1.72 PPG). Lafreniere had a much better 16YR old season, however.
I think he's getting underrated the same way Seguin was in the Taylor vs. Tyler debate. Hard for people to see past the better production of the late-birthday (Hall/Lafreniere) in their draft year and their success at the World Juniors.
If Byfield were to return to the OHL next season in his 18YR old year would he produce as well as Lafreniere? Would he dominate the WJC like him? Hard to say, but that would be comparing apples-to-apples.
One question I have is the difference in hockey IQ. I get making the comparison in age and production and Byfield does have moments where he dominates in the same way that Lafreniere does. Byfield has great puck handling and dangles, he both shoots the puck and passes well and it certainly presents a lot of questions of what he will be like in a year from now. Both Lafreniere and Byfield have high hockey IQ but at this point I do see a gap between them and I wonder if a year of development will close that gap. How do you feel their hockey iq's compare and do you think there will be a meaningful gap in the long run?
