This seems like a perfect candidate for the Jets to make a trade. He's a legit #1. You have to gameplan for him. Could open things for Crowder, Herndon, and the running game. He's not necessarily a guy to double, but it's a weapon they don't have at the moment. If the Bears really need to move him, Douglas should be on the phone with them. Would not balk at the price either, unless they are asking for something crazy.

Maybe Robinson helps the Jets get 5 wins instead of 4. I don’t think the Jets are in a position to spend high pick draft capital on a WR. Also, if Robinson is unhappy on the Bears he’ll be much more unhappy on the Jets.

Here's all you need to know about Allen Robinson...he made Christian Hackenburg look like a good quarterback.

If anything forcing a trade after being drafted is even more entitled

Disagree. It’s splitting hairs, but people don’t choose what team drafts them. At the time he’s a young guy with parents and a team around him. I’m not a fan of it, but I get it. I’m also a Jet fan so I have no reason to apologize for him.

Robinson is a guy who was a UFA and took the money to go play in Chicago. After he took the big money to go up there he wants out. He chose Chicago. To me, that’s worse. I’m sure he had multiple teams vying for him.

Again, splitting hairs... just disagree with your point.

At least it’s not Jalen Ramsey bad, but I’d respect him a lot more if he did it respectfully in the offseason.

which has nothing to do with these players demanding trade in season and under contract.

John Elway did the same thing. Yeah, so the Broncos rode a whiny John Elway just as the Giants did b/c they both won Super Bowls years later?

We finally got our Eric Lindros in Eli.

lol, those fickle whining about what happened in the draft also bashed Eli most of his career along with borderline aneurisms over the elite talk. Ironically, the same fickle did a 180 and defended Eli later in his career once he wasn’t playing well. Knocking the same Giants fans as “unappreciative” while they defended him for years.

If he wants to be traded from the Bears what makes you think he'd want to play for the Jets?

Money is one thing. Joe Douglas was asked about the salary cap and he said there is a chance that the cap could potentially drop to around $175 million. That's a lot of money teams need to shed. The Jets have a ton of space this season and are not using it. They'll be fortunate that they could spend next season banking some of this space.

It just should be explored. Even if it doesn't come to fruition, they need to be actively trying to find weapons for Darnold throughout this season in preparation for the next one. A legit #1 WR should be on their minds and Robinson is exactly that.

In the last 20+ years the Jets have shown little to no interest in spending resources on receivers. Here are some ugly stats. The last WR drafted by the Jets to play in at least 100 games (anywhere) was Jericho Cotchery. Only 5 players have more than 5,000 receiving yards with the Jets. In 60 years!! By this stat, the best Jets WR signed as a free agent (other than Don Maynard) was Wayne Chrebet. If I'm a WR I don't want to sign with the Jets unless they are offering substantially more than anyone else.

Edit: Maybe I set the bar too high - the Giants only have 4 receivers with 5k+ receiving yards.

The funny thing is that the Jets let Farrior walk to the Steelers in free agency, and he goes on to be a key member of their defense missing only 6 games over 10 years in Pittsburgh.

Beckham scored a TD against a bad team. Whoopee Doo. Still didn't reach 100 yards. Until that guy does it like 5 weeks in a row he's an injury riddled clown to me.

Eli's career is very similar to Marc-Andre Fleury's.

Back to the current Giants; I expect another like 5-11 year. How many years it it going to take to build a freaking O-Line?

Should've traded Engram for two mid round hope picks and picked an OLine Man and a pass rusher.

That guy stinks. For a city that is allegedly not big on having patience, Engram along with Mike Pelfrey and Steven Matz seem to get a lot of chances.
