Maxim Groshev seems like a guy the Rangers would want in the 3rd/4th if he is available when they pick. Whole season in the KHL for Nizhnekamsk. Played at the WJC as a draft eligible.

Also after some more research, Jarvis is looking like a solid pickup, too. Super quick, slick and fast. IQ is amazing. I get Marner vibes from him.

Won't lie, kind of upset with myself for not speaking about him sooner....

I've been on the Seth Jarvis bandwagon for quite a while. I also see some Marner in him but dare I say that I also see some Panarin in him. Only an inch shorter and better skater. Great hands, quick feet, high hockey IQ, plays center/ RW and is good defensively. If the NYR were going to pick Clayton Keller a few years ago at the same size, I don't see why we wouldn't pick Jarvis this year. I think the NYR should pick him at 13 or 14. He won't be around at 21. Seth Jarvis would be a great pick at 13. Definitely is my pick. Mysak, Gunler, Mercer, Holloway, Zary, Peterka, Andrae or whoever drops to 21.

Jordan Eberle. Jarvis doesn't have the upper end gear, and the edges that Marner has. Saw Jarvis a couple times when I was in Portland this year, he was easily the best player on the ice when he had the puck.

I do think that there a couple of guys that I would call "Pro-Certain" more than others as you would in any draft, and when you get to a spot where Jarvis' would be considered, he is less "Pro-Certain" than a Kaiden Guhle for example.

All in all, I think that there are some less sexy picks who will be very good NHLers, and there are guys like Jarvis who you will need to wait on for 3-4 years before they start to make an impact. This is a very good draft, and I brought up Jarvis as soon as I saw a couple of Winterhawks games.

The head and the hands there. I do not see him has a tier 1 athlete. Meaning the physical talents are not as high, but he is very smart and a guy who has excellent vision. If the wheels were better, and he was a more gifted athlete, then the hype would be a lot higher.

I wouldn't complain if he was one of the 1st round picks.

Gunler’s upside from my POV is Rikard Rakell’ish which would be great of course. I like Gunler, but I have never fallen in love with him so to speak. But he is a good player. Doesn’t do anything ‘great’ but is really strong especially offensively.

I think I am a little biased against someone like him because for such a long time, we haven’t really had the real offensive dynamos and I’ve liked the smaller play makers more, or the higher PFs. Loui Eriksson, Martin Rucinsky, his upside — from my POV — is along those type of players’.

Wait!!! Am I missing something? What the heck is up with this order? Am I going crazy? Rangers picks at 13 and 23ish vanished? The coyotes don't own pick 10 as of now. Not even gonna mention some of the players left off their first round picks.
It's based on the standings, so technically the Rangers are in 16th, but with the actual lottery rules they would be 13th.

And it seems the writers/editors just omitted the 2nd pick and kept it with their original team. Poor writing

Honestly I don't know. I really don't know what Lias was at #7 overall. lol

Lias was a reach on draft day, but had the tools to become a solid two-way, 200 foot player. Skating wasn't an issue at the start, but it became more and more obvious as time went by. Now we all know where they're at.

He dropped a lot in the last Central Scouting ranking, but I like the late round swing. Not sure why he fell, though....

More and more rankings looking like there's the chance that Raymond could drop even more.
