Zary is my guy this year. Hope he falls into the Rangers lap but that might be difficult with the way they’re flying up the standings.

They have a tough March coming up against an equally hot Philly team to start. Also if it does get to the point where it looks like they wont make it, id play Georgiev as much as possible to try and use him as ammunition to trade up at the draft with 1 of the 2 picks.

I've been a huge fan of Lundell for the last 2 years, the Gunler hype started a bit later, but both have been on my list for this draft. For what it's worth... Rangers had scouts at the u20 tournament I attended late last year, and Lundell was one of the most talked-about players by scouts in general that day.

Probably an unpopular statement but I thought Lundell was better than Kakko in the WJC they played in together

I really think he is going to be the steal of this draft and in time will be a true number 1. Maybe not a league leading guy like Crosby or McDavid but definitely a guy who is top 5-10 kind of like Joe Sakic was

Could be, but I think that title will go to Gunler if he could put it all together. I think Zary could be that kind of player, but if he isn't then his play would drop off by 27 years old (this is pure speculation of course).

I'd love Gunler as a late 1st but from what's been said about him, he doesn't seem to fit what the team is building culture wise

Although I think he's worth the risk for sure

Lundell was great that tournament. Funny story: My colleague from Helsinki invited me over to join their morale event, a VIP box at the HIFK home game and part of the package was the chance to meet one of the team's players. Lundell was not in the line up so I knew immediately. It was the night before they flew to Canada for the WJC.

Byfields stock has really dropped imho. As much as I wanted him he might have the biggest bust potential of this group
Let's hope it drops all the way to wherever the Rangers pick.

His size/skill combination is unique, and don't forget he's among the youngest in his draft class. He's less than 2 months shy of a year younger than Lafreniere.

I don't really buy the "size/skill combination is unique" bit, but what you said right after that is spot on. In 2017, Filip Chytil was almost a year younger than Nolan Patrick. Lauri Pajuniemi, while being a 2nd year eligible in 2018, was only a week older than Brady Tkachuk, a first year eligible.

You can make an argument for the age difference, for sure.
