He's an ok depth player for Michigan & flashes a bit once or twice a game in the offensive zone. He actually had some clutch moments last year for the Wolverines in their late season turnaround when they got on a heater to make the tournament and get to the Frozen Four. But again, he's no Hagelin or even Glendening, might not even be a Ben Winnett in terms of impact.

Going forward, he'll probably get signed to an AHL only deal after he's done in Ann Arbor, play a bit in Grand Rapids.

Kris Draper is never going to live this pick down. There was never going to be a good ending to it. I can’t believe he did that to his kid. What scares me is if Steve ever steps down he’s our likely replacemwnt

I think he'll be able to sleep at night with a seventh round pick not amounting to much.

Not that any of them matter much, but there 5 players picked after Kienan that have played NHL games. I don't think any of them are currently on the NHL roster though.

But in any case, if Finnie winds up being a top 6 forward, I'll forget about this dumb pick. 7th round is a crap shoot, but they should've had a better assessment of Kienan considering how many games dad watched.

For real. They could have picked Ansar Khan with that pick and I wouldn't have blinked.

Every pick is a potential Emmitt Finnie. That draft, they could have picked Ryker Evans, Josh Doan, JJ Moser, Kolosov, or Mazur. All went undrafted in 2020 and got drafted as overagers.

Throwing away a pick is dumb. Why bother picking Kienan when he can be invited to camp by his dad? I think I would've been less pissed if Draper had picked Khan or HSJ, lol.
