I do not understand those fans who starting to hate own team in bad moments. I do not care about Canada's team but you are forcing me to say a word to put some fair here. Just stop crying. Reminds me of some our fans after the lost to the CZ (fire Bragin, change the hockey head, our team should go home!). WJC is WJC, you should remember that. It's a lot about psychology.

In 2011 Russia lost to Canada 3:6 on the group game, then lost the game against Sweden. The final result is well-known with 5 goals in the third period.
In 2012 in semis Russia was leading 6:1 and in the 10 mins Canada made 6:5. Who knows maybe in the other day you would be more sucessful.
In 2013 Russia lost in group game to Canada on home ice 1:4. But won in the bronze medal game 6:5.

You have f*ck*ng everything to repeat something like that. Absolutely. Even aftrer today's game. It might be unpleasant for someone's ego to lose 6:0 but the score means nothing. Your team played well in the game with the USA and spent all emotions there, as one of the reasons you lost today.

Our team used chanses, somewhere got lucky, played fine in defence and overall disciplined (which was not enough with the Czechs). I wouldn't make big conclusions at all. As well as Canadian team spent a lot of emotions in the previous game — our team spent all they had today and in this sense I am expecting hard game with the USA. I hope Bragin will explain them well who they are and will put them on the ground in the best Russian traditions with a man-to-man talk.

Today’s game was not great, however I won’t overreact to it since it is just one game and I think anything that could go wrong, did go wrong. It’s one game and I fully expect them to bounce back. Nico Daws would still be my goalie, it’s at least worth discussing but I’m still rolling with him.

One thing I will point out though and normally I don’t like to rag on kids at this event but I really didn’t like Hayton’s show of clear disrespect towards the Russians. Take your helmet off for the national anthem, just like you’d expect any opponent to do if the Canadian anthem was playing. I know he issued an apology after the fact but I don’t think it’s a genuine apology. Everyone knows what’s happening post game, it’s a foregone conclusion at these events and you know you should take the helmet off. Do the right thing and just take it off... hopefully it’s a learning experience for him but I did not like it.

I expect, Canadians play 100 mph hockey in the next game, like a bunch of mad grizzlies, that woke up in the middle of winter. Grizzlies are very dangerous, when they wake up in the middle of winter.

Canada shouldn’t lose 6-0 to anyone in hockey, ever. They should be ashamed of themselves, only way to make up for this now is to not lose again on route to gold, obviously it’s going to also have a lot to do with Laf and if he returns.

Maybe this team just doesn't have the skill needed to win the tourney. To me last year's team had far more skill and they didn't fare well. That being said, 2018 team seemed average at best and look what they did.

If USA takes Russia to over time, we win the group if we win out (6/6 from Czechs and Germany)

I knew they have to work on the breakout. 1st 2 goals from team russia was due to giveaways. The coaching staff are not very good. Should have changed the goalie after the 3rd goal, should have change lines drastically to wake the team, should have requested a challenge on the 1st goal as it was offside. This kind of coaching is not acceptable at the nhl level or nhl playoffs. When team finland pounded tc during the summer showcase, Coaches did not do much. I just don’t understand this. They are just not good enough.

look on the bright side, people. Edmonton has dropped out of a playoff spot. We may get to see McDavid at the men's tourney in May. That's something to look forward to...that is, of course, if he's not attending a friend's wedding in August.

and as a follow up to that, more good news. the Strome brothers are both RFAs this coming offseason, therefore both will decline any invite for the May tournament. and without a hint of sarcasm, because some may take it as such, that is a legit good news story. I feel better already. :)

Need wins in regulation as well.

Is first tie breaker head to head?
Yeah. If the States win in regulation and we both finish 3-1 we finish 1st. A Russian win in regulation puts them in the drivers seat for 1st in the group. Don't think the States really have a shot at 1st they are looking at trying to get 2nd in the group with this win.

Yesterdays loss had nothing to do with lack of skill. Zero effort top to bottom and starts with the Captain who looks like he's 'Too Cool for School' with his dipsy doodles and blind back passes, saw him try (and fail) the lacrosse move in the prelim game, WTF?

It's a mistake to take players on loan from NHL clubs as most come in with the wrong attitude, show up thinking they're doing you a favour by being there and are going to walk through the tourney against lesser players.

They better come out with a rage and fury against their next opponent and the rest of the teams they play.

We got punched in the mouth by our biggest historical hockey rival and they rolled over and took it. I’ve never seen a Canadian team do that before, it was sickening.

They better come out with ****ing flying all over the ice and with Canadian intensity or this country will lose it on them.

Would have been nice to have a couple more skilled players in the Canadian lineup. Not sure it would make a difference in the end but we are definitely missing some skill. Start by adding Newhook for one of Foudy or Dudas. I still do not understand the complete Rees omission.

Night and Day from the US game to the Russia game and its hard to gauge if this was a flat group that got behind, Laf went down and they couldn't get on track or if the Russians were just that overpowering. They couldn't stop the puck. They couldn't defend and they couldn't sustain an attack.

Question for me is how would we have done vs the US without Laf. The offence isn't there without him. We lack some skill.

Losing Pelleter before camp certainly didn't help with the skill level up front, but there's still lots of skill there. They just need to be better.

True on Pelletier but he didn't get the same kind of pass as Dudas either.

Dudas has been able to play, though. Pelletier only made his return to the Q yesterday, and even at that he was a game-time decision. They aren't going to roster a player that may not even be able to play.
