Kopitar being a #3 center in a couple years doesn't sound so crazy now does it? (I know you weren't the one who scoffed at that, just making the point)

If Kopitar can be a third line defensive center I'm actually okay with that. Or, if he could shift to a second line center role, he would benefit greatly from playing easier defensive matchups (and not having to carry Brown on his line).

Really sad but we might be seeing the official decline of Kopitar, Doughty, and Quick. We knew it was coming but it's just depressing that it's finally here.

Quick still looks like a starting goalie to me. So that $5,8M doesn't seem awful.
But Doughty and Kopitar at $21M?
That's rough. And Six more years for Doughty? That eats into the next generation. You might have a hard time resigning a guy like Byfield or Turcotte because of a salary like that.

Doughty should just come out with it and say he wants to be on a playoff team rather than just phone it in on a nightly basis. Make it easy on the Kings and yourself, Drew. Go ply your trade on a team that is going somewhere rather than have your career end up flailing around on a team that is rebuilding.

I am honestly not that impressed by the Avs, it took a string of weak calls for them to break this game out. The young guys for the Kings had them spinning around for a majority of the 2nd period.
