We had him for 9 games. He scored the first game for us but was invisible after that. Holland has made some great moves but this one was the sketchy one.
Just curious, what is the long term goal for Byfield? I have watched every Team Canada Jr game and I expected much more from him. Will he be sent back to junior after LA camp?

Kings can afford to be patient and develop him right. Some concerns about the WJC but I think most realize this tournament doesn’t define his whole career.

Perhaps the best analogy I can think of for Athanasiou is he’s what happens in the NHL 2020 video game when you create a player with high stats (top 10 fastest player in the league, a hard shot, above average hands), but let him be played by your 7 year old Nephew.

I say let this artist design a new Kings jersey. How the F, do the Kings end up with black, silver, white and just a bland LA logo?
Nothing of 'royalty' about it. Is it based on because black and silver sells?

Royalty colors are purple and gold...can use variations possibly - dark royal blue - more yellowish than gold. And a Kings theme has myriads of possibilities - like this King card. Or some kind of crown, of course. It's 2021, for crapsakes. Go a bit bolder. I was looking at Team Canada jerseys and not necessarily crazy about the upper design that is like some 'mottled hexagons' pattern...but at least is different and looks good. I was thinking the Kings could do something like that
and instead of hexagons, be crowns. Would be a subdued thing. How about something unique?
The Stadium jerseys were kind of 'meh', but kind of liked the angled design, somewhat. An 'LA' that looks like it was flying was not that great. I liked the numbers font, however.

I was looking at designs that are different and saw this Canada Cycle jersey...I think it's cool, part of a leaf at the bottom. Would part of a large crown look cool? Maybe. The Crown could have some detail, but maybe not as much detail, as the older crown designs. Could at least be interesting. Could have an LA logo still in the center crest. I am ready for something new.

Wagner and then the bottom five guys can go in and out of the lineup, although Lizotte probably doesn't but it is hard to fit him in a C spot unless Carter moves to wing which pushes Wagner down. Regardless, I think these are the dudes. Maybe Fagemo blows the doors off and makes the team but, broken record time, I really think Blake wants these kids to marinate together down in Ontario.

AA signing gives you a legit NHL player/forward in an age range that the Kings don't really have on the roster. He's 26. Iafallo and Frk are 27. Outside of those two, we are looking at 25 and under or 33 and over with the 25 year old being Trevor Moore who is filler. The price is basically free for AA and he could be someone that surprises like Frk.

Blake hired the dude in Ontario purely for developing the group of prospects he has drafted. There will be injuries to the big club and the 4th line guys could play themselves off the team coupled with some guys in Ontario crushing it but, even then, I think it is a JAD type getting the call and not one of the prized prospects until maybe late in the season--much like what we saw with Vilardi and Anderson last year.

I definitely understand he is here but don't think he stays. I think Fagemo has a better chance to make this years team than Andersson, but I'm hoping Andersson makes the team

Lots of interchangeable parts up front. Guys that can play multiple positions. Should keep most everyone on their toes. At least early on.

You don't bring in a guy with 300 games to sit, so he'll be in there somewhere. Not sure where or how he fits yet, but if there's a fun part of no expectations, it's the let's try this, and let's try that way of approaching a game.

Our defensive corps is Doughty, Maatta, Roy, and Walker. MacDermid is a "veteran", if lacking NHL minutes, and Anderson, Clague, and Bjornfot will be given every opportunity.

Amadio, Moore, and Luff just are the odd ones out. I might even add Athanasiou to that list, as it seems like wvery year, we sign someone that just doesn't work out at all.

AA sure has some glaring weaknesses, but he potted 30 goals just 1 season ago.
It's a gamble and he might not stick longer than the upcoming year, but I like this signing.
