It's incredible how good bingo is at blowing leads.

In fairness, last year Senn and McIntyre were two reliable goaltenders and the team had a lot more experience on defense in Cumisky, Mermis, and Tennyson; as well as a lot of the second-year AHL players who are now doing well in NJ.

I wonder if this is related to the baby Devils playing in Newark this season. I thought I had read that Binghamton was unhappy about that, which would be understandable to me. I wonder if there is a financially disagreement for this season due to the baby devils venue change.

A little more of an update. Seems like like a potential Utica move would happen for the 2022-23 season if it happens.

You’re probably right on the financial part of it. I would assume the Devils originally took over proposing that they save money by playing in the Devils practice arena rather than sinking money into preparing the Binghamton arena with no fans in the stands.

Probably gets a little more complicated now that things are opening up with attendance. I would assume Binghamton would want them back to get some fans in the building and, from that, revenue.

The Mayor of Binghamton was angry and asked why Broome County hadn't done more to keep the Devils in Binghamton this season.

Based on news reports, the mayor said the decision not to play in Binghamton appeared to be based primarily on financial considerations and not specifically due to Covid-19 health concerns.

During the live interview, David said he wanted to know "what did the county do or not do in order to try to resolve" some of the issues that were involved in deciding where the Devils would play.

Mayor: No Binghamton Devils Home Games a "Huge Loss" to City

What’s going on with Okhotiuk, he’s not listed as injured and is instead on the taxi squad but I haven’t heard of him practicing with the big club or anything. EP says he’s been on the taxi squad since April 1st

Foote out tonight. Would assume he’s either injured or getting called up. Would be weird for them to take him out of the lineup when they’ve had a decent layoff.

Okhotiuk is/was injured. Dennehy said he would be "longer than day to day". He last played 3/27.

He’s been on the taxi-squad since April 1st tho. He can’t be on the taxi-squad if he’s injured

The Devils seem to have been using the taxi squad as an injury slot for quite a while now. Seems like when an AHL player has some lingering injuries they put them there so they don’t have players sitting on the taxi squad rather than getting practice time and games with the AHL team.

I guess that makes sense

That makes sense. Looks like a mayor trying to score some points politically to be honest.

Back when the season started up, the outlook certainly seemed like we weren’t going to have fans in the building at all this season. Obviously that’s changed now which means the main reason for them playing in Newark is essentially gone.

How did Schnarr even score there? Tough to see on the replay. Looks like he just runs into the goalie with the puck.
