Does Foote actually look like the real thing? Will he skate well enough for the NHL? We've heard some mixed things. He'd be a great fit with Hughes if he can keep up.
He's been impressive in my viewings. His skating is definitely fine. He's not a burner, but his skating gets him around. I think he needs at least one more year before we call him up though.

Things can change from year to year but if I could map out Footes development plan, it would be to get him into some games within the last 10 of the season and have him at camp next year. If he doesn’t blow the doors off, then have him continue to work on his game in the AHL with a full time NHL plan being 2023.

Totally agree on that one. It can't hurt to see where he stands exactly with his skills and current development against NHL competition.

Not only that but I like rewarding guys that are having good years. Give him a taste of what his life could be like playing in the greatest league in the world and see if he’s the type to train harder in the offseason to reach that goal sooner than later.

Foote likely gets his cup of coffee this year, but I'd wait for Hischier and rest of the forwards to settle in first. Once Hischier gets back, we should be able to comfortably roll three lines (maybe 4 with McLeod) and can place him on a comfortable line rather than throw him straight into the fire.
