Probably the best prospects tournament out there.

Hopefully the Oilers send a team one year.

Yea, it's an actual tournament. Those other 3-4 team events are cool but playing a couple games can't really be considered a tournament.

I really enjoy the Traverse tournament it's an excellent look at other teams prospects. First time i tuned in was to see highly touted Fabian Brunnstrom. James Neal stole the show instead.

Rangers roster is looking mighty fine :)

Nothing against the Rangers and I completely agree, but this post just reminded me of a few seasons ago when Buffalo was at a tournament. I think it was just a 4 team tourney. They were suppose to just lay waste to the opponents, but I think thet went 1-2 and got killed by someone.

Not saying the poster is saying his team will dominate, or anything against the Rangers. Just, for whatever reason made me think of that.

Rangers team looks good on paper but in a summer tournament like this anything can really happen. I sort of like looking at how individuals perform rather than the team in short tournaments that dont mean anything

The wings roster should be pretty good. Not sure if Zadina will play but should get to see Veleno, Seider,Lindstrom and a few other good players. If guys like Zadina, Rasmussen and Cholowski play than they should be able to play/beat any team in the tournament

Personally I would be surprised if Ras or Cholowski play because they've both graduated from standard prospect status

Would be really weird to send Rasmussen and Cholowski to a rookie tournament. I guess each team can be different though. Leafs aren't even sending Sandin or Liljegren.

Liljegren is not eligible as he has two years of pro-North American experience. Tournament rule.

It's been an 8 team tournament as long as I can remember. Just saying.

But I agree. There are up years and down year and also you can never tell. Rangers almost always split two games to each goalie. Shesterkin should be a stud but anyone can have an off game. Huska's a pretty good prospect but not at the same level as Igor. So you never know--a goalie gives up a bad goal or two or a team takes too many penalties or players get injured and things can change.

The Rangers do have 7 solid D in the tournament and 5 are really good prospects now--Fox, Rykov, Robertson, Reunanen and Keane. They also have the two stud forwards--Kakko and Kravtsov + Karl Henriksson. After that the forward depth is pretty ordinary. If the D plays well--if both goalies do well and Kakko and Kravtsov stand out though they'll be hard to beat.

Personally I would be surprised if Ras or Cholowski play because they've both graduated from standard prospect status

Would be really weird to send Rasmussen and Cholowski to a rookie tournament. I guess each team can be different though. Leafs aren't even sending Sandin or Liljegren.

I would be surprised on Rasmussen and Cholowski a bit as well but theyre guys who arent guaranteed a spot on the wings this year and both second year pros. I'm not sure if theres a games played in the NHL rule but they might not be eligible because of that if there is.

It is a prospect tournament but if they are eligible I could see them playing just as a way to get into game shape for NHL training camp. Depends on what the team wants to use this tournament for.

I would have liked to have seen how Bemstrom played for Columbus. Unfortunately he's out with a facial injury.

A little weird that Sandin won't be playing, but it should be a good tournament. I'm very happy the leafs are doing this rather than playing a couple of games against Montreal and Ottawa

The wings roster should be pretty good. Not sure if Zadina will play but should get to see Veleno, Seider,Lindstrom and a few other good players. If guys like Zadina, Rasmussen and Cholowski play than they should be able to play/beat any team in the tournament
I dunno. The Rangers have the best goaltender and overall the best defense in the tournament IMO. Should be close between the two teams.
