Feel like after close to 6 years we have a good idea of where this class ranks.

I’ll go:

1. Jack Hughes
2. Moritz Seider
3. Matthew Boldy
4. Cole Caufield
5. Dylan Cozens
6. Connor McMichael
7. Bowen Byram
8. Trevor Zegras
9. Kaapo Kakko
10. Mattias Maccelli

Pretty good top 4, I think mine would be the same.

I'd put Zegras higher despite his last 2 years, just cause he's had 2 consecutive 60+ point seasons. Only Matthew Boldy and Jack Hughes have 2 or more seasons above 60+ points.

I'd also make room for Thomas Harley, Dimitri Voronkov, Pyotr Kochetkov.

Dustin Wolf is on his first season so based on their NHL careers so far probably shouldn't make it.. I suspect he'll be a lock by the time the season ends though.

That’s dope.
Unreal. I'm happy for you
Heh. :) Well, I figured it'd be slightly more amusing than the standard "OMG how dare you not include $MY_GUY this list sucks and you suck". :ipeace

There's a fair debate to be had; I just don't feel like Dmitri Voronkov gets anywhere near enough appreciation for what he does.

Pretty good list. I think I have the same top 4 too.

Yeah I changed Zegras a couple times, didn’t really know on what to base my evaluation on him whether it’s on the first half of his career so far or his most recent play. I think there is a point to be made he has a spot in the top 5.

You could always go with recency bias and swap out Maccelli. :sarcasm:
I was actually considering saying something along those lines.. but I'd probably swap out McMichael first. Having a great season so far, but Maccelli produced at the same rate for 2 full seasons

Johansson on the Red Wings has a chance to be an NHLer, he's improved under the new coach quite a bit. Still too early to tell, but I think he's at least in consideration.

Why do you have zegras over Byram?

Hughes
Seider
Boldy
Caufield
Harley
Vlasic
Byram
Wolf
Cozens
Protas

HM: McMichael, Voronkov, Broberg, LaCombe

Tricky list to put together, needing to balance out track record vs recent performance.

McMichael and Voronkov very well could be on here though short sample size, while I still have Wolf on here who has tracked well and is having a phenomenal year as a No 1.

I will just do the top ten

Jack Hughes
Matthew Boldy
Moritz Seider
Cole Caufield
Dylan Cozens
Bowen Byram
Kaapo Kakko
Dmitry Voronkov
Mark Kastelic
Philip Broberg

There are a couple of goalies who are projected to take over the number 1 spot on their respective team in the next 2 seasons--until that happens they wont be in my top ten

There is no universe where a 6’4 seider who gives you 200 hits, 200 blocked shots and over half ppg is below boldy.
