We have way too many goalie propects already. I would take flyers on skaters instead.Hoping we take a flyer on Amir Miftakhov or Adam Ahman in net.
Finished doing all my draft research and here are the realistic players I’d like us to take. Bolded are guys I’ve followed a bit throughout the year as they all play for or are committed to UMass.
If we trade into the first round(unrealistic)
-Peyton Krebs
-Ryan Suzuki
-Arthur Kaliyev
Sticking with early 2nd round pick
-Matthew Robertson
-Alex Vlasic
-Philip Tomasino
-Nolan Foote
-Jayden Struble
-Zac Jones - going to UMass where Ferraro/Makar were under a great coach for d-men Doug Carvel
Trade into Later 2nd round or keep Third Round
-Marc Del Gaizo - have written a ton about him here, just finished freshman year at UMass. Tory Krug-lite.
-Aaron Huglen
-Jackson Lacombe
-Adam Beckman
-Kirill Slepets
-Anttoni Honka
-Ronnie Attard
Later Rounds
-Filip Lindberg- UMass goalie I’ve written about a bunch here. Huge 2nd half of season with run to NCAA title game. True freshman. Very athletic and great positioning.
Brayden Tracy, Alex Beaucage, Mikko Kokkonen, Jordan Spence, Adam Beckman, Vladislav Kolyachonok look like good "bang for your buck" picks that could be available with #41. Brayden Tracy in particular.

I could understand Petrecki at the time, but Wishart??I will be the first to admit I am an absolutely roaring dumb**** when it comes to prospects. I didn't like the Meier or Couture picks but thought Nick Petrecki and Ty Wishart were damn fine selections. Please just lock me out of this thread because I have less than zero to offer in here.

Holy cow that list is insane.
LOL. I think unless you are picking top-3 or so, there is so much pressure in the 1st round (as a fan). When you are in a situation where there is a doubt that the GM does not pick the player you think he should pick, there will be a lot of stress involved ..Gotta admit, it's kinda a load off not having to worry about a 1st round pick. Heck after the pick at 41 we're all gonna be going "who"? I've followed this draft class far less than I usually would. It'll be interesting to see if DW swings another trade or two or somehow trades up into the first round or very beginning of the 2nd.
So we're definitely drafting a Finnish player this year.
It's all numbers/analytics based so that's why you might see some weird names sticking out. But that's also why I like it for a team that doesn't pick until 41 and might want to hit a home run.
I think if we're drafting a goalie, it's gonna be next year. All of our prospect goalies have improved on their previous year. I imagine that they want to let Emond, Korenar, and Robinson simmer a little more to see if they actually need to spend draft capital on another goalie.I literally just started reading into late first / early second round picks this morning like most of you guys unlike previous drafts that I followed to the T.
I have to think we will take a draft riser and probably someone none of us are familiar with. We will nab fallers in the later rounds like we have recently.
Hopefully we go for another high upside prospect at 41# that has a chance to be a top 6 forward or top 4 D.
If this draft is as deep in goaltending as they say, going for a goalie with high upside would be fine too. Having a deep goalie pool has always turned out well for us. This could very well be the time to look for Jones' successor.
