Tiranis was my fav poster on here, don't think I paid much attention to MS before 2014, dude ****ing owns now.

If he comes back, perhaps he should change his name to Tiranisauraux Rex due to his awesomeness.

Back in the day when I was uhhh busier with life and didnt't have time to post here much or read entire threads, I used to have in my bookmarks a link to MS's posts so that if the Canucks signed some player and I wanted someone's opinion on it, I could just skip the rest of the thread and read his take.
Now you do that for my posts right? right?

I didn’t realize MS was such a sensitive guy until he said The Transformers movie (1986 animated film) was horrible because it almost destroyed his childhood.

Movie spoilers

.
They killed off Optimus Prime.

I thought it was far better than any of that Michael Bay crap,

They don’t just kill Optimus they kill almost everyone as it was a way to reboot the toy line.

As someone who loves transformers and has seen all the movies I can without a doubt say 1986 was the best but it was still traumatizing.

Also the new bumblebee movie is actually good and they are using it to reboot the series.

The new Bumblebee movie sucks in my opinion.

Deadpool 2.......now there’s an awesome movie.

Same, I have a lot of respect for Tiranis' takes and opinions. Shame the current regime and all the apologists turned him off this board.

You mean like all 6 of them?

This board is Approximately 95% anti Benning.

The far more likely scenario is that he got busy with life and/or work.

Not when it was still early in Benning's tenure here. There were a lot of posters vehemently defending the dumb moves he made, and he got tired of people spouting the same excuses over and over when it was clear to see from almost the beginning that we were in trouble.

I’m very sorry to hear of his personal trauma.

If you’re in touch with him, please let him know that I’m willing to lend him my shoulder during these trying times.

Fortunately while not an adult at the time, I was still a bit older so the “shock” wasn’t nearly as great. Plus I had seen already some what I know now as “anime” where deaths actually happened ‘onscreen’ (you rarely, if ever, really saw this at the time in animated show at the time, at least North American ones). Though I suppose technically it did happen in this cartoon I saw in reruns where the spider thingy gets blasted in the intro:

This was the “anime” series where I was first exposed to that genre ( it’s not a great dubbed version of the original Japanese series but what dubbed things are that great)

I wish I could delete some things I've said. I've changed a lot since posting here. Luckily posting is anonymous.

I've really tried to tune down a lot. Even on Twitter I've basically tried to keep silent. It's weird, the Canucks OHL scout follows me and a few of the Lockwood family and McEwan's mother follows me. So as of lately I've been a lot more tuned down on Twitter.

I was insufferable when I first joined HF
Thats how it is for most of us who started posting as teenagers I think and thats just how it goes.

I remember how I used to get so pissed with MS about prospects because I thought that like all of our picks had NHL potential, I had Jensen pegged in as 30+ goal scorer lmao

My opinions are still shit but Im aware of that before I share them at least

Well Jensen did score 30+ goals in the AHL one season at the age of 23 (leader in goal & points for this team that season). Some guys, for whatever reason, just can’t take that next step. Shinkaruk was another such guy.

That’s why I feel bad sometimes arguing with M2B about the outcome of our prospects. I remember when I was a teenager and so sure Most of our prospects would be mega stars that I don’t want to take away his happiness.

I’d rather wait for him to become jaded/realist slowly over time like all of us.

Heh, I’ve been a member of this forum for just over half the amount of time I’ve been on this planet. I think as a teen I kept my nose fairly clean, but I do remember clashing with a mod over a really stupid post (libel), and I got on my soap box and pleaded free speech and all that jazz. Fortunately for me, he was a very patient fellow who explained freedom of speech doesn’t apply to free enterprise, and that it wouldn’t stop lawyers from suing me or the site.

Lol yea 17 years and still going on this site.

I remember in no order:

the first Phoenix thread on the business of hockey board

Turkey girl

Unique points arguements

Gaboriks real estate agent

The original playoff photoshop thread

This is Outhouse

The great Zoidberg board crash

The second board crash (zoidberg blamed again)

Martin skoula puck poise

Minnesota wild 1 man game thread

I remember most of this entire thread unfortunately

OT: What's the most memorable HFBoards inside joke or saying?

I might need a new hobby

That’s a great list. “This is out house” still makes me burst out laughing every time. What a phenomenal auto correct.

And yeah, those never ending Phoenix threads...

That’s how I’ve navigated hfboards since, I don’t know, 2010? Follow a handful of posters (in early days it was search users post histories), don’t click on threads. My quality of life to time spent ratio improved dramatically.

Re: wetcoaster, he was a sitcom character. You knew when he would show up (just write “how did the Canucks draft Pavel Bure so late” and set your watch), and what he would say (because it was the same four posts, and perhaps a reference to an expensive scotch thrown in). Like vancouver_2010 and his ski resort post, there’s something to be said for traditions and shared history.

I remember all the ‘tribute’ videos on YouTube regarding the Canucks from 2005-2007, with cheesy music in the background and Canucks clips.

It was posted here and on the official Canucks board. If y’all remember the Bertuzzi-Naslund scores video...that was a treat LOL

Yeah. It’s important to remember that there were once Taylor Ellington fans. No offence to him, obviously, just that that’s how emotional reasoning works.
