They have within a range of 500k. Most years, to start the season, most teams are not within 500k of the cap. And given it's before free agency it's very easy to deal with that. I don't think it matters much.

They aren't within 500k because they need to leave room to make moves in-season. Every little bit of cap matters.

I am asking if the Rangers made a call, or if the delay was on the Avs side.

I have three people on the ground there with us.

Another two with different teams.

Four of the five are stunned by the lack of movement...anywhere. The other is busy with newly minted draftees and hasn’t responded.

It will be disappointing if we learn that a holdup was the Rangers requesting a ready to contribute player now or something.

Yes, but they don’t have Boo Mother****ing Nieves!

If we could somehow get Chara, our bottom 6 would be rounded out better than theirs

Is it possible that people here are just used to the rangers have mid-round picks so we look at and get attached to players in that range? I don't know much about the prospects this year (4 kids under 3 years old) but the way people are complaining about not getting Krebs, newhook, Caulfield, etc you would think that we didn't draft KK at number 2. Anyone we could've gotten at 20 won't be as good as Trouba is right now and who knows what the future holds.

I'm a happy rangers fan tonight.
