I understand the context of this particular game but Jones is throwing some terrible passes. Stared down Ellison there

also pass interference challenges are terrible lol
They’re entirely pointless. They just put them in there to shut up Saints fans and make it seem like they’re doing something.

I bet if that same play in the NFCCG got challenged it wouldn’t even be overturned given how the calls have gone.

Oddly enough Daniel Jones one great game against the worst pass D in the league last year was not enough to anoint him one of the greats in the game.

I don’t know what DJ is supposed to do in a game like this. Hes got zero running backs so pats like Minnesota are just sitting on pass all night. He’s got no Shepard no Engram and the pats secondary is just mauling slayton and Tate all night no calls. I mean what’s he supposed to do? Wind was a factor for both qbs clearly.

this kid has had nothing to work with in terms of a running game outside of the redskins game which they won easily. How do you play like that with zero threat of play action? Against this defense?

In the Jets Bills opening game, Darnold passed for a TD and the Bills challenged claiming OPI should have been called and the refs upheld it reversing the TD (Jets scored a TD that drive anyway so it didn;t matter). The OPI call was something every team does every game that doesn't get called. The whole challenge system and pass interference rules are a complete crapshoot because they are enforced haphazardly, inconsistently and usually by a guy 30 yards away.

Wherever I'm standing atm
Bill and his O coordinator coached an atrocious second half yesterday. That offense is incredibly beatable which is shocking to say. The Bills, Redskins and now Giants have all made them look uncoordinated and out of sync probably bc they just are uncoordinated and out of sync.

If you're in 4 down territory and it's 3rd and 3 then why are we running sweeps and plays that take a long time just to get back to the line of scrimmage? Instead of 4th and 2 or 4th and 1 he lost a yard and made 4th down that much tougher.
Not smart football by Belichick.
He did the same thing on 3rd and 5 and lost three yards instead of gaining 1 or 2. Those yards proved to be the difference as the kick hit the upright barely. It stays inside if it doesn't have an extra 5 yards to keep drifting left.

Defensively, the Pats are just like frantic bugs, constant leg churning, arm ripping, movement, ball ripping, etc. Like a damn swarm to watch.

Jones missed countless opportunities to pick up easy 4, 5 yards. He also started throwing off his back foot even when not necessary. He did both a LOT. Plenty of times it WAS necessary to throw without his feet set. He needs to toughen up and recognize when he can afford to step into a throw or good D will always eat him alive. Kudos to the Pats D but when you're looking at a wide open guy 5 yards downfield and choose to hold it in order to wait for something deeper, then take a sack or have to throw it away then that's on the QB.

The Giants defense is playing great ever since the second half of TB. The offense just ran into two buzzsaw's in a row

Todd Bowles would be proud.

Yea that was an embarrassing decision by Shurmur to punt on 4th and 2, down 14 with only 7 left in the game. No guts. No awareness of what this Pats offense had JUST done in killing 7 minutes off the clock in the 3rd. Terrible, gutless coaching. They give up a damn TD anyway. Just dumb coaching in the NFL

Jones didn’t play a great game, but that Patriots secondary is no joke. Those receivers couldn’t get any sort of separation. It seemed like every pass was contested, even the touchdown pass.

New England is going to lose 3-4 games probably and they’ll all be in that span of 5 weeks to Dallas Philly KC Houston and Baltimore

Rookie QB in a short week going up against the #1 DEF in the NFL and Belicheck.
Minus his #1 WR, #1 RB, #1TE/#2WR, #2RB...

Defenses don't have to take this offense seriously right now in any aspect. I know the turnovers are unfortunate but he's literally trying to do it all. They couldn't rush for more than 1-2 yards. Receivers struggled to get open. They were basically utterly overmatched.

At least no one else got hurt and the defense continues to look more and more competent. I'm starting to go back on previous post about them drafting defense this coming draft. I think they're looking for a stud WR/OT/OLB-rusher in this draft.
