This is the exact same argument that was used about Zuccarello in the playoffs when he got hurt like four years ago. If the doctors clear him to play he is going to play. His job is the starting QB. He's not just going to sit and not play if he is able to.
Zuccarello didn't have to play behind the Jets O-line.

Ok team might as well just fold up shop then. Healthy scratch their #3 overall pick starting QB the rest of the year even though he's ruled perfectly fine to play. Makes a lot of sense.

Works for me....:dunno: (where's the sarcastic devil smilie when you need it!!!).

I know it's not going to happen or even sound logical to most folks (which I why I'm here and not running a team). I just fear for the kid...especially with the "luck" this franchise has....

Screw OBJ. So happy he is gone. How long before he begins bitching about not getting the ball? Screw Baker Mayfield too. He is at his ceiling with not much room for improvement. Still think Darnold will be better than him.

Also what do we think Daniel Jone's ceiling is?

A slightly more mobile Philip Rivers with a slightly weaker arm? I'm bad at this.

Imo a rich man's Alex Smith or a poor man's Aaron Rodgers. Hopefully see 4500+ yds, 40 TD-10 INT type seasons out of him.

Shurmur sucks though. Happy he had the balls to make the switch though. Look at all the rollouts and bootlegs Cousins had last game. Yet very few for Jones despite him being much faster than Cousins. And he should be running a QB sneak every 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1.

Sounds reasonable enough.

40-10 is like prime Aaron Rodgers ratio. Might wanna expect a little less.

I think Jones could throw ~30 in an elite year for him. Maybe. 40 is a huge stretch.

Don’t really get the Alex Smith comp either. Is it because he’s a white guy who can run? Jones has a much bigger arm than Alex ever did. Hopefully he doesn’t have to deal with a new OC every year like Alex did.

But yeah, getting regular Alex Smith, let alone a “rich man’s” Alex Smith would be a monster win for the Giants considering most people thought he would just straight up not be good.

40-10 isn't that uncommon anymore. Especially with guys like Mahomes throwing for 50+ and Wentz, Watson and Goff will probably get 40 plus at some point. All depends on what we surround him but let's remember even Eli had a 35 TD season under McAdoo.

Alex Smith in the sense that he is smart, can run, excels at short passes and is a perfect fit for a WCO.

I hate to break it to you, but Jones isn’t Mahomes or Wentz, and he doesn’t have a genius calling plays for him like Goff.

I would bet a LOT on Jones never hitting 40 TDs. Besides, TD passes are overrated anyway. If Jones can competently manage the offense the Giants will be fine.

How does @Brooklyn Rangers Fan feel about Mayfield pissing off the 9ers pre game?

Dude needs to stop being so edgy.
Not pleased. One of the reasons I was gung-ho for Darnold and down on their draft in '18. But he proved me wrong last year, and we're still early in the season (and I just got billed for my 2Q Sunday Ticket subscription), :) so we'll see.

But yeah, definitely unhappy with my QB (and my NBA team's owner) this week.

Only Manning (not Eli) Rodgers and Brady achieved a 40/10 season. But sure, not uncommon anymore.

What about Brees, Mahomes, Stafford, Marino, Warner, Culpepper, Luck, Farve and Ryan who have had similar seasons?

Can we expect 32-12 seasons out of him?

Wait what did the Nets owner do? I remember my brother saying something about him but he says a lot of things

That QB class is looking pretty underwhelming as a whole. I really liked Darnold coming out but he hasn’t impressed me much in the NFL (tbf he is with the Jets). My fav QB from that class is easily Josh Allen.

Josh Allen is turnover prone. Still think Darnold will be better but Gase is not the guy imo.
