I'd bet all my money the Jets not only win next week but blow us out. John Mara should sell this utter cesspool of a franchise. The Giants will lose to the Jets and Miami. Might win one more game if a team has a huge letdown like the Pats did against us, without having the talent of the Pats.

i'll take that bet. The Jets are far far worse than however bad you think the Giants are right now. Giants are going to humiliate the Jets next week. You may lose all the rest of your games but the Jets aren't beating the Giants next week. Oh and Leonard is gonna have like 4 sacks lol.

The Giants will probably beat Miami and Washington. I just think by the time they play those two teams they just aren’t going to care anymore. I just have a hunch they lose to the Jets though

Not sure if it's what you meant, but there's a good chance John Mara is one of, if not, the biggest reason for the current cesspool state of this franchise.

Giants ownership has consistently shown an inability to look anywhere but backwards ever since our last Superbowl title. They were way too cautious and conservative in getting rid of Reese. They were way too cautious and conservative in getting rid of Manning. When it came time for a new GM they went with the guy that sold them on taking the team back to a "classic" era of football that hasn't really existed for 10+ years. And as part of that overhaul, the team flushed every controversial personality from the roster, regardless of skill level.

This team is being run as if it is a completely different era - and certainly not one in which the Giants have become the LAUGHINGSTOCK of the NFC East. They have just been SWEPT BY THE COWBOYS for the 3RD CONSECUTIVE SEASON. And guess what - they're's a real good chance they're going to suck next year, too.

At this point Giants ownership is clearly the biggest problem with the franchise.

Agree with most of this but:

1) Beckham and Collins aren't doing shit.

2) The Redskins are still the laughingstock of the NFC East.

I predict the Jets will win 2 more games. Against the Giants and the second Dolphins game.

The Giants will probably beat the Redskins once and that's it. They'll lose to both the Jets and Dolphins.

Both teams will be 3-13.

Who gets dibs on Chase Young then if that happens?

Strength of schedule is the tiebreaker. Probably the Giants would pick first if that's what happens.

I think its in the best interest of both teams to lose as much as possible. Get a legitimate difference maker or trade down for even more draft capital to fill the many gaps.

That challenge is a disgrace to a league that is complete garbage. They make a rule their own refs aren't following. It's just wasting coaches' challenges too. At this point, they should know better, but basically the refs are actively screwing coaches by not following rules and having them waste timeouts. That's not negligence that's corruption.
They're hiding behind the "clear and obvious" part of the rule to avoid overturning what they know are missed calls. It's f***ing disgusting.

The point of video review is to get the calls right. Instead, coaches are getting punished because the calls they're challenging aren't quite bad enough to meet some arbitrary standard, when everyone watching can see what the right call is.

That non-call against Engram was obviously a blown call. The defender came through the back of the receiver and interfered with the catch. It was a textbook call that you could clearly see at game speed. Shurmur should have known better than to challenge it, but how messed up is it that we're calling him a dumbass for challenging something that was clearly a blown call?

The whole "clear and obvious" thing is so stupid. When you go into a review there should be almost no memory at all of what the play was. Just make the best possible call from all the available plays. There's no need to stick to the call on the field on a play that close where they are just as likely to be right than wrong. If you truly can't tell what happened on review or make a good inference from review then just make the tiebreaker the call goes to the offense or something since they always prefer more scoring.

As a franchise the Jets are far worse IMO. As a team I agree that t's very close but if not for a missed FG they'd have the same record.

Well, yeah because the Giants were one of the most successful franchises in the league not too long ago. But now and future they're neck and neck.

Giants are 8 years removed from a superbowl. Jets are 50. Yankees are 10.

That's true, but it might as well be 100. This team won't be good for a long time. I post on a Giants board with an older crowd and people are legit worried that they won't live to see another good Giants team. They're completely hopeless.

I still have a little hope for Jones turning the franchise around but I can't get too excited about a guy that just can't figure out how to not fumble.

It's not like it is unheard of for young quarterbacks to fumble a ton. Other young quarterbacks like Minshew and Kyle Allen have been fumbling at pretty much the same rate. I'd be much more worried if he's still fumbling at this rate in his 2nd year but right now it's a bit of an overreaction.

People forget just how f***ing terrible Eli Manning was his first season, I think.

I'd forgive a teenager who didn't experience the 4 titles in 25 years but the older guys you refer to sound like whiny pats fans.

Gettleman needs deal Engram for a 1st or 2, 2nd's and take a RT, LT and C with their first 3 picks. Then worry about the defense. The OL is going to get this QB killed if they don't fix it.

He only started 7 games his first years but his numbers in those 7 games were way worse than Jones first 7. I have no memory how many fumbles he had. He did have many seasons where he fumbled 10-15 times though. As of now if you take Eli’s 2005 16 game season though Jones numbers right now are on pace to end up very close to that which was 24 TD 18 INT

BS, man. No one ever likes losing and I feel like we have no hope either. It's like saying because someone is rich so he can't have any concerns in life.

Game on Sunday will be close, but the teams could easily have the reverse records (not saying much).

Tampa hits that FG, it's game over, but their coach was an idiot and moved them back.

If the Jets have a normal kicker in week 1, they beat the Bills.

Still say the Giants win the game. They have a better offensive line and even though their secondary hasn't been great, the Jets don't really have receivers that get open.

Oh, and Gase is still the coach, so the Giants will win just because of that.

A point was made that we got those Super Bowls because the league forced Mara to hire George Young. I think the Maras are the undoing of this franchise.

Its hard to really permanently undo a team in the NFL, the cap structure usually keeps teams from being perpetual bottom feeders. You can certainly hire an imbecile (or a string of imbeciles) to run a team into the ground for a while but there's no reason teams like Giants can't bounce back even if the owners are cheap doofs. They just need to start focus on what makes teams tick. Some pass rushers and a decent O line would be a good start.

The perfect exhibit of an NFL team that is perpetually bad is Tampa Bay. They are always bad, and they have multiple high picks. They were the team that was notorious for having so much money to give free agents and suck.

Well, we've been duped by that with the Jets. The Giants might be in that same mold coming up this offseason. They have a boat load of money.

All that means is that they don't have guys on their roster worth keeping around after being drafted. Good teams rarely get a bunch of good free agents because they have to pay their players first and never have the funds to get those guys when they actually hit the market.
