Is there room for both Bell and Paradis at this point?
They still have like $40-50M in cap room. Plus they'll likely trade or cut a couple of guys.

The past 48 hours have been insane as a Jets' fan. I knew that they' were planning to make a big splash with free agency, but this is insane.

edit: just saw on /r/nyjets that

"Jets have atleast $43 MIL left. $33M to be precise as $10M is allotted to rookies... $12 M to Paradis $16.5M to Bell $4.5M left over for the season"

Does Bell like Baltimore because the defence will never come off the field and the QB will run for him? Sounds like a cushy job.

If one of Barr or Mosley was going to back out, I'd have preferred it being Mosley. I think Barr would have exploded as a 3-4 OLB in our defense.

Oh well. Definitely a **** move by Barr, though. Also, why is it whenever free agents spawn the Jets, the Vikings are always involved? Getting really annoying...

Eh Barr is the easier one to replace. Edge rushers aplenty. If he didn't want to leave MN, so be it. Hopefully they can put the money to better use elsewhere.

easy to replace? have the jets had an edge rusher since abraham left 15 years ago?

I was kind of always confused by Barr. Remember being drafted and being a premier edge rusher. But did he play inside in Minnie? He didn’t have many sacks at all.

I mean there are players with Barr's skill set still available, be it on the market or in the draft where we're picking. Justin Houston is out there, Ansah is a potential fit, Dee Ford potentially via trade, a bunch of guys like Allen and Williams available in the draft, etc. Like, it's not that it doesn't suck losing out on Barr but it's hardly the end of the world. It's also money that could potentially be used as sweetener for Bell and/or Paradis. I'd rather have no Barr and one of those two (or both) than Barr, personally.

There's also the point of Barr being given big bucks to play a role he hasn't in the NFL. While the evidence and his past suggests he should be able to handle it, it was a bit of a gamble.

Yeah, for sure. Like I said it sucks, if for no other reason than we have to be the butt of even more jokes.

Barr was an interesting fit. I think it could have worked really well, for sure, but there was definitely a chance he didn't excel in that edge role as much as we'd hoped and we'd end up with a guy posting $8M production for the $15M we were offering. And it's fair to worry about a guy whose heart clearly wasn't in it, who wanted so badly to stay where he was but chased the money against his better judgment. Maybe a bullet dodged? Again, I think it was a good pairing and I wish he didn't back out. But we've still got options.

Man, the Browns are really making their push, and they should. Pitt losing their two best weapons, Baltimore losing half their defense, and the Bengals are still the Bengals. It's a winnable division for the Browns right now. If they nab OBJ, they could be the outright favorite.

I might have them as the favorites regardless.
