and as the org posted said, this was a move for the future, to add to the pipeline of prospects. we draft a goalie now, it may take 4-6 yr of development to see a glimpse of what he will become.

I don't think anything lands a top 5 pick other than Kaner, and he is the one piece they better not trade.

I don't think its saying they're trying to acquire a top 5 pick. I think its saying what can they do to their team to ensure their own pick is top 5. Thats how I took it.

If Duchene doesn't re-sign with Ottawa and we get Anisimov off the books and signed him, our center depth would be nice. Toews, Duchene, Strome, Barratt down the middle next season.

Also works for me. For how much Panarin wants, I think he's unattainable. It'll be interesting to see who walks from Ottawa.

well at this point, for me at least, it will be a wait and see for this trade. however i can see the upside of this trade .......

I'll have to watch Boldy some more. Actually I have to do A LOT of catching up with prospects in general. But Boldy has been interesting because I've never viewed him as super noticeable but it's because he never does anything wrong...but also doesn't do anything flashy. So for me he's just been solid all around. Definitely a safe pick. I just wonder how high the upside is with him. Good floor though.

really..... i really thought the Bhawks will concentrate on Centers in the draft. for me, still it is the Russian and Newhook....

I am fine with most of the names floating around the top 10, but for me we need more guys wanting to shoot the puck more than dish it - Boldy is a kid that is a lot like Billy Guerin with more skill. This kid can score goals, drives to the net and actually creates offense out there. He has produced on Hughes' line and on the 2nd line with Turcotte...Cozens and some of these other kids out there are better passers than shooters...we need more than just Cat as a shoot first player IMO...

if you don't know, just for discussion sake, what is your take on Newhook and 2 of 3 of my favorite prospects, Kaliyev and Caufield.
