We don’t really have capspace to do something bigger though. The options more than likely are stay put or make a smaller move.

I didnt say significant...but legitimate. Could apply that to any spot on the roster, even 4C or 7D.

Which can be said about pretty much every playoff team. They were all caught off guard by the salary cap and wrong projections.

Unless Ghost's knee is 100% and he is flying around. then the trades we make will be extremely minimal. If anything we may have to dump a player to get Patrick back under the cap. the Thompson, Lewis type trade say for a 5th round pick won't kill anything. If Frost is not in the top 9 you do not call him back up.

Flyers Mailbag: How much change will trade deadline bring?

[...]

General manager and team president Chuck Fletcher will be a cautious buyer.
“For our situation, I don't know if it makes sense to pay a massive price for rental right now,” he said recently. “I don't think that that is the right move for this group but if we can add a forward that can help our team, sure. But where are we going to be in six months or 12 months? I'm an optimistic guy, but I'm hoping Oskar (Lindblom) and Nolan (Patrick) are a big part of that too, so if that's the case and, you always want to look at what you're giving up to get. Certainly we're looking at every situation and our goal is to make the playoffs. We want to get in.”

SoundFlyer14: Which position is most likely to be addressed at the deadline? #flyersmailbag
It’s obvious enough that Fletcher hasn’t even tried to keep those cards close to the vest: the Flyers need help at center. They’ve tried nearly everyone in the organization at 4C and while Patrick would be a boon if he could return, the Flyers still may need more help.
The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun mentioned Ottawa’s Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Montreal’s Nate Thompson and Los Angeles’ Trevor Lewis as possibilities. Pageau would probably be the best fit and, naturally, the highest cost to acquire. All three are pending free agents.
Another low-cost option could be Calgary’s Mark Jankowski. The pending RFA has had a rough year for the Flames and a $1.675 million cap hit, but recently got a vote of confidence from interim coach Geoff Ward as being a part of the team’s long-term future.
I would definitely be in on Pageau but he of course is having his best season of his career right now. I've always liked him as a bottom six player but I am going to assume the Sens will want too much for him to make it actually make sense to acquire.

The correction I made is small but huge. Because if Frost is here Hayes is down on line 3. Of course that does nothing for line 4 which makes this move still deck chairs on the Titanic but some just keep thinking it is the fix.

I'm really more concerned with TOI. He should be around 12-15 min per night of TOI (10-12min at 5v5, remaining at PP2). He provides enough to be effective in that ice time.

Still perplexed by this idea that Frost is somehow better served in the AHL playing with no system and learning nothing about how AV wants him to play, as opposed to playing a smaller role in the NHL, learning the proper systems, against people who are more in line with his skillset, while producing at the same or better rate than the people we hav playing as our 3C(when G is at LW) and 4C

Flyers player poll: Who's the funniest? Best (and worst)...

videogames2.png

Two players abstained from the vote entirely, saying they had no idea whom to choose. Voracek explained his abstention in inimitable Jakub Voracek style.

“Those f***ing young nerds, I don’t know,” Voracek cracked. “At ‘FIFA,’ I’m the best. But I don’t know what they play these days. f***ing ‘Fortnite’ probably.”

I just hoped the Ghost discussion would only go from page 3 to page 40, just like every other roster thread even before the TSN list
Neither hard entrenched side took their stand yet. So we wait for it...

Ondrej Kase would be a nice target to replace Lindbloms point contributions this year

Laughton/1st for Kase

Farabee -Coots-Vora

Take it with a grain of salt obviously, because its HF, but the ask for Kase on the forums was Sanheim. (and to be clear, I do not think thats an actual valuation, just dont expect it to be well received outside of this board).
