Damn impressive game. Dominated for large stretches, weathered a storm early in the 3rd, and scored a timely goal to pull away. I love that we are getting clutch performances from the young core.

One thing they can't say about this Kings team is that they tanked on purpose. A six-game winning streak in March is pretty much the exact opposite of a tank.

Would have been nice to see Kempe bury that open net (in the third?) or Kopi with the goalie pulled but hey a W is a W.

Each line had a ton of good looks and oppurtunities.

Now, Colorado was without Makar and Kadri but hey moral victories.

One thing they can't say about this Kings team is that they tanked on purpose. A six-game winning streak in March is pretty much the exact opposite of a tank.

They will be rewarded at the draft lottery, so long as Luc Robitaille isn't repping the Kings at the lottery.

Look no further than the young guys we brought up that brought with them enthusiasm, energy, not knowing any better and a chip on their shoulder for specific, individualistic reasons! These kids play for the Kings and as Tommy Lasorda would say, they play for the name in the front of the jersey!!

Yup Pretty much this. Crazy how this team turned on a dime when you get rid of dead weight and insert a few kids who can actually play. Cal, Gabe and Mikey have played great and no coincidence we start playing better.

I think most of us here feel this way too. We ain't getting Laffy hell the way we're playing we may not get Byfield, or Stuzle, or Rossi or Drysdale or Perfetti etc. So mind as well start winning. We'll get a good player regardless I think it's a deep draft especially in the top 10.

You have to wonder what is clicking with this team right now in comparison to 2/3 of the season where they were just pissing away games? The team is less talented without AMart and Toffoli. One would hope that it's an indicator of a team that is putting some things together rather than it be just a fluke where a bad team is having a run.

Sadly, it's because Jeff Carter has not been in the lineup.

Only time will tell, but it's never easy to project anything from a bad team in the latter part of one season, to the next. Post-deadline, basically every game at home, first chance for a lot of young guys in games that don't matter, etc. Can't start 5-11-1 again next year.

And management knows this. They've fully acknowledged it. It's just not easy to get rid of dead weight in a hard cap league. It takes time.
