i've never really understood the 1-3-1 gripe, it's not like we're not forechecking at all like the bolts did

it's like getting mad at boeheim's zone D, there are holes and if you can't exploit them, that's your fault. no one marches soldiers into a valley on the low ground when the high ground is fortified, you find another way. if that's all you planned for, you planned to get slaughtered

I griped about it a lot when facing it because its' boring as shit, but that was also due to our system. What it does well is stifle teams that like to set up with control (aka Sutter Kings) by turning the neutral zone into a minefield/safety net. So the better, more talented teams that like to play with speed and control get totally neutered. It slows the game waaayyyy down. But you're right, it's not like the TBL sit around and do nothing version. It forces teams to adapt their gameplan, I like it in that regard, it reminds me of when the Sharks and Hawks were forcing us out of our systems by just saying 'f*** it' let's create chaos and play pond hockey since we can score and the Kings can't.

And VGK broke it pretty well most of the game, since they're ok with dumping the puck and forechecking hard...but teams that want to enter with control to the point where they're willing to turn it over rather than dump it get soooooo mad haha.

The disrespect. They lost to us the last 2 games.

The thin line between cocky and delusional.

One thing I loved about the Cup Kings and Hawks--they always respected the opponent. If you lose, it's because of you, not a third-party source. You remove your own excuses that way. It's loser talk otherwise. See: Coyotes, Canucks (outside the Sedins), Sharks.

Some teams show class while other teams show their ass.

I still think that was some kind of penalty there.

No penalty.

If you defended Doughty’s stupid disrespectful comments about past opponents don’t be critical of anyone else’s. Atleast be consistent in opinions.

I personally think players should shut up about things like this as they almost always look like morons when they open their mouths.

We either want these guys to have personalities or not.

Reilly's got as much personality as the chair I'm sitting on.

I don't have problems with players mouthing off, I call Doughty out when he says stupid shit too (but 9 times out of 10 it's just the media running with bullshit misquotes, but that's a different thread), but no team blaming everything from posts to refs to hockey gods is gonna do anything but faceplant on the ice after they lose in OT in the SCF. Take accountability for your own play, that's the only thing you can control. I'm glad VGK is unhinged, they'll be a nice soft out for someone and blame the high heavens again.

I'll continue to call em like I see em, thanks.

Mikey Anderson looks real steady out there. No turnovers, and doesn't throw the puck away when he gets some pressure.

I think it was in the 2nd period where he did hold on to the puck a tad too long and got checked off the puck (I think by 2 Knights players) that led to a turnover. But other than that he was steady-as-she-goes.
