Among the 45 goalies in the NHL that have started at least 5 games this year, Jack Campbell is 41st in save percentage at .880 and Jonathan Quick is 45th (and dead last) at .849. For goals against average, Campbell is 31st with 3.22 and Quick is, again, 45th at 4.48. If we remove the arbitrary five games started, Campbell is 51st out of 64 goalies in save percentage and Quick is 63rd out of 64. The only player with a worse save percentage in the league than Jonathan Quick is Oscar Dansk, who started 1 game for Vegas and let in 6 goals on 31 shots. Quick is tied with Sergei Bobrovsky for most goals allowed in the league with 31, although Bob has played two fewer games. The next highest goals allowed by a player with the same number of games played as Quick is 23 goals in 7 games, by Devan Dubnyk. Again, Quick has let in 31.
As a team, we are 31st in the league in goals against with 49, four more than the Red Wings. We are tied for 20th in goals for with 31. We have the fourth-worst power play percentage with - I'm not joking here - 8.9%. We have the 7th-worst penalty kill, at 73.8%. We lead the league in shots per game with 37.3 and allow the second-fewest per game, with 28.3. We're not too bad at faceoffs either - 10th-best in the league, at 51.3%.
So far, we are not a very good team. It's going to be a race to the bottom between Detroit, Ottawa, and Los Angeles. The only real question here is will any of these three win the lottery, or will we be picking 4-6 again?
