This was one of the best periods of hockey I've seen in some time. There is just something about a 0-0 single elimination game. You can feel the tension in the air, and the longer it goes scoreless the more intense it gets. It's the same feeling as watching a play off game that goes to double or triple over time. The play on the ice is so exiting the lack of scoring just doesn't matter.

Lol @ the Canadian player that tried to intimidate Lindström and screamed at him viking style in front of the Canadian net. Lindström just chuckled and shoved him a last time.

This isn't the 70's goon hockey, you think you can intimidate a Swedish player? Nope.

Sweden does their best first period all tournament. Canada's best player was Makar, even though he barely played. Cannot understand what the coach fails to see what everyone else sees.

Arguing about who won that period and then we have people complaining about bias.

This tournament always brings out the best GDT's.

The problem is the opponents chances of scoring go up too when he is on the ice

I understand the thinking here but it just hasn’t proven to be the case this tournament. I’d completely agree if a few Makar pinches ended up going the other way or he fumbled the puck on his blue line leading to an odd man rush but it just hasn’t happened. He’s done nothing but create offensive chances for Canada.

I really don’t understand Doucharmes usage of pairings. If Clague and Fabbro are going to be the guys you lean on defensively so be it but do so appropriately. We had an offensive zone puck drop following a TV timeout and instead of putting out Makar he puts out Clague and Fabbro.
