If Sweden gets even a point from Russia (a win or tie in regulation), we're going to get the Czechs. If Russia wins in regulation, then SWE or CZE, depending on GD.
Russia would have to lay an absolute clowning on Sweden for GD to come in to play. We're talking a Denmark like clowning.

Sweden defeated the Czechs in their round robin game, isn't that the first tie breaker? So even if the Swedes lost in regulation, they'd finish higher in the standings?

If Russia beats Sweden it's a 3 way tie with 3 points each in h2h games. Russia wins by 1 Russia is 2nd, Russia wins by 2 or 3 Sweden is 2nd, Russia wins by 4+ the Czechs are 2nd

it's h2h goal differential, not total goal differential. Sweden clowning Belarus and Switzerland doesn't come into play here. Sweden is currently +2 as they beat CZE by 2. Russia is -1 as they lost to CZE by 1. If Russia wins by 2 they're ahead of Sweden in h2h GD

Ohhh right, because it's a 3-way tie, right. My bad, forget everything I posted.

Nope, because there will be a three-way tie. The Czechs beat Russia, Russia beat Sweden (in said scenario) and Sweden beat the Czechs.

My bad, that makes more sense.

Finland can't face Russia no matter what, because they're +5, Sweden is +4 and the Czechs are +3, so if they beat Sweden in regulation, they'll go on to win the group. Then places 2-3 will be decided by which of SWE or CZE has the better GD. No clownings needed.

Again it's h2h goal differential, not total goal differential. In a 3 way RUS/CZE/SWE tie Russia is -1, Sweden +2, Czech -1. If Russia wins in regulation by 1 then Russia finishes 2nd and plays Finland

Yeah, I get that. Maybe you mixed some quotes?

Also not sure where you see Sweden as +4, even if you were incorrectly using total goal differential Sweden is a +12

No quotes mixed up. Russia isn't a +5 in h2h goal differential, Sweden isn't a +4 in h2h goal differential, and CZE isn't a +3 in h2h goal differential. All 3 teams being positive in h2h goal differential literally isn't possible.

RUS is -1
CZE is -1
SWE is +2

If Sweden gets a point:
1. SWE
2. CZE
3. RUS

Russia in regulation by 1
1. SWE
2. RUS
3. CZE

Russia by 2 or 3
1. RUS
2. SWE
3. CZE

Russia by 4+
1. RUS
2. CZE
3. SWE

So yes it's possible for Finland to face Russia if Russia wins by 1 in regulation, and you had the goal diffentials wrong, so unless you didn't type "Finland can't face Russia no matter what, because they're +5, Sweden is +4 and the Czechs are +3" then I have the quote right

If you want to edit your post retroactively and pretend it was never there go for it.
There's no edit tag. So either I never did or I realized my error so fast your schooling me was pointless anyway.

Pretty much confirmed what someone said earlier
Valimaki and Heiskanen got destroyed. They couldn't get the puck out of their own zone.
Juolevi and Jokiharu were playing really well.

Those 2 guys also had the same problem against their previous opponent although it wasn’t as high.

Don't forget to edit this post as well, wouldn't want anyone getting confused ;)

Only one here who seems to be confused is you. Yes, I got things a little mixed up at first, but I realized my error *before* you decided to give me a lecture on it. That's all I'm saying.

Perhaps we can now end this pointless back-and-forth?

Goaltending has absolutely been a problem. It's not the only problem but of the 10 goals we've allowed I'd say 8 of them were stoppable and 5 of them flat out bad.

Maybe we just have a different idea of what is a bad goal. Half of the goals against the US have not been bad goals on the keeper this tournament IMO.

Sometimes the other team just makes incredible shots or puts up good screens and sometimes your defence hangs you put to dry.

The US keepers have been merely average so far but I don't think I would go with a third stringer. Play one of the two that got you here.

Again, I would work on not giving up 3 on 1s while on the PP while up in the game. That changed the complection of this game more than any keeper.
