2 minutes into the period and the ice is already almost unplayable. Glad the IIHF guy from Barcelona, Spain is here managing things though! I'm sure he really knows his hockey.
Haha.

The man knows a good sheet of ice.

Snow looks much lighter from the centre ice and behind the net cams. The normal camera catches all the snow between.
I wish they would just stick with that angle. I can’t see the puck most of the time. Just trying to figure out from body language and positions who the puck carrier is

It's a team game. Play as a team till the end. Making a team game an uncontested battle between individuals does not determine which team is better.

If you don't think playing outdoors decides which team is better but think that shootouts do, I'd like to witness the mental gymnastics needed for that.

First off, I don't think shootouts decide which team is better. They just decide who the winner is.

Secondly, the entire point is that some teams are better in the shootout than others. That applies here. Maybe Canada has coaches or players with more experience in these conditions. Maybe their system is just better equipped to deal with it. I could go and on, but the point is that if you're going to argue that the shootout can favor one team over another, you should be willing to acknowledge the same can be true here.

Now, my issue is that this shouldn't be the case here. These are two of the most skilled teams in the tournament, forced to play garbage hockey. One team is just playing better garbage hockey than the other. Do I know that the results would be different if it were indoors? No. Do I think they could be? Hell yes.
