Why is this poll result 44% in favor of the Finns? That really might explain a lot about some of the other polls/threads around here if Finnish fans almost outnumber Canadian ones.

Guys like Tolvanen can be a huge difference maker when there's team full of veteran experience and solid consistent play without funny mistakes around him. Now it's like he's asked to do too much. Wasn't lights out prospect because of that before Jokerit.

Finnish #1 and #2 lines have been good. The 3rd line and the 3rd defensive pairing has struggled a fair amount. 4th line hit and miss. Finland needs to do something about the 3rd line though. They spend pretty much every shift in their own zone.

You said the NHL rule is "if the puck is already headed in the direction of going in it doesn't matter if the net is dislodged." and you guess the IIHF rule must be the same since it counted. I assume that's the NHL rule you just posted(because it's not a word for word copy of the IIHF one I googled myself when the goal happened), like the IIHF rule both require it to be the defending player to have knocked the net off. So I guess you were right in that they're the same, and that it doesn't matter if the net was dislodged, but only if it was the defending player which doesn't apply here.
Yes and I didn't know that was part of the rule and I never referred to who knocked off the net I was simply defending myself against another poster who I actually haven't seen have any input other then to be insulting or rude to people.

Juolevi, Heiskanen and Tolvanen need to improve a lot and show some example. Välimäki has not been at his best, but was still able to play better than in the first period. Vesalainen was good in this period.

Luukkonen has not yet found the "Tuukka mode".

Oh, should there be 20% for FIN? There were legitimate arguments for this to be a tight match, and arguments for FIN offense to be better than the counterpart. There's no surprise there.

I started following this tourney way back when it was a bit of a niche thing and people didn't take it so seriously or stake their "national pride" or whatever on it. Was fun to just watch some young talents play their hearts out without all the nonsense. Obviously that's long gone now but I'm still here for some reason.

That makes sense. I started watching in the 90s when Canada won 5 in a row the first time. But it was just kind of a fun diversion to kill time during the holidays, nowadays some fans define their entire scouting report on prospects by their WJC performance.
