Wilde is getting benched, seen him one shift in the first took a penalty, seems to be used as the 6th D now.

Another hot take from Grant’s buddy. I like Kotkaniemi, but 4th? Now you’re drafting solely based on need and someone like Wilde should know that’s idiotic.

It's for 2019, but Bjornfoot and Grewe are real good.

And re: Gustafsson, his skating isn't good, but his mechanics aren't completely awful. 3-4 years working on stride length and his skating would be good, because he can move his feet quickly.

By the end of the 1st period, Lundkvist has sent 2 unbelievable Markovian stretch passes, one of which to set up Sweden's only credible scoring chance of the period.

Yeah, so, there isn't a goaltender alive that would have saved Jesperi's one-timer today.

You who has watched his Liiga games all year, how does he compare to an expected top 5 pick in an average draft. What would be your reservations with him at 5 or 6.

The same concerns one would have with any 5-6 pick: their skills are undeniable, but if they don't keep progressing for a few years, they'll leave you disappointed. Jesperi's tournament has confirmed that he can be an excellent 2 way center, with 1C upside. He can be. But there's a couple years of work left between now and then.

How does Kotkaniemi compares to Rantanen?

Rantanen was bigger (he's enormous), and a better 1 on 1 player. Kotkaniemi is smarter and a better play maker. They both had the skating boogeyman raised about them in their draft years. A significant difference is that, while their draft year productions were statistically as close as they could be, this was Kotkaniemi's first kick at the can. Rantanen had played over 40 Liiga games before his draft year started.

I'm actually starting to warm up to the idea of drafting Kotkaniemi if we're drafting 7th..maybe even 6th. Depends who is already picked. If Dahlin, Svechnikov, Zadina, Boqvist, Wahlstrom and Dobson are picked in the Top 6, and I have a choice, I may take Kotkaniemi over Hughes or Tkachuk. if they think he has the potential to be a first line centre...Regardless, I don't think I would be disappointed.
