Great play by Jesperi to keep control in traffic and set up that chance.

Two high danger scoring chances set up by Kotkaniemi already. #selfishplayerthough

Not the best gap control by Boqvist there but Finns are just flying out there. Seems to have gone off his skate.

Berggren would lead the tournament if Sweden had any finishers. Set up Pasic and Olofsson for two golden chances. Really missing Hallander in these medal games.

Kotkaniemi with a solid game. Made positive plays under pressure throughout the entire game, great passing in all 3 zones, got open and converted on important chances.

I wouldn't be surprised if Habs fall to #7 and they select Veleno, with Ducharme now with the Habs staff.

I highly doubt Timmins even has a conversation with Ducharme about the draft. I bet they don’t even talk. I can’t think of a circumstance where a scouting director would call up an assistant coach unless they had their sights on Veleno the entire time and want to know about his character. It’s highly unlikely.

Depending on how the lottery pans out, IF we are considering Kotkaniemi or Veleno (I prefer the former 1000%), I’d look into maybe trading down to pick up a later top-10 or an early teen pick and an additional 2nd if we don’t get another 1st via a trade of some sort on draft day.

With the draft lottery tonight, it seems like a good time to update and expand my rankings.

I'm a bit higher on Wilde than I maybe should be, especially when I prefer to look for hockey IQ above all else, but you can't ignore the tools, and I think he can be coached to be at least pretty good defensively at the NHL level.

Watching the replay of the game, in the late 2nd, Berggren seem vastly superior than Kupari. Kupari doesn't do much, Berggren is the catalyst in almost every Sweden offensive menacing plays. Kupari is maybe a better skater but thats all, and at most from a very small margin, but who cares Berggren is the better puck-mover between the two, and his vision is far superior.

Someone has Berggren in the top10 and I wouldn't say he is crazy. He does everything well. Smart, skilled and fast. Yeah I am really high on him.
