It's been covered a lot. He isn't a threat to score goals, he's a perimeter player. A lot of his production is cheap production. His development over the past few seasons has been minimal. His drummondville performance was a hot streak as seen by his terrible U-18 performance.

He scored 30 point in the 13 games between January and February, after the trade. So, under ppg the rest of the year and just above ppg in the post-season.

I'm wary of his offense.

Yeah I feel like he might drop big time on draft day... like late 2nd. I really can't see a team not wanting other guys instead of him... It really seems like his development has slowed way way down, but other guys are just getting better and better. His story reminds me a bit of Esposito.

Looks like kotkaniemi or Hayton would be better picks if we move up

Move up from the second?

I dunno, Kotkaniemi is likely going in the top-12. Price is gonna be high using our seconds and probably not enough depending who we talk to for trading. Hayton is alright, but honestly, I’d rather just keep our second round picks then and go for Hillis or some other centers discussed last several pages as second round targets.

Dobson is certainly a tremendous prospect, no doubt about it.

If the Habs can either get another mid 1st and can the trade up a bit, or just trade down if the price is right, would be interested in Dobson for sure depending on where they think he will go.

I think if we really want him, we just have to take him at 3.

Across the league they say take your grade and add 10% for right handed defenceman. Though RD is probably our strongest organizational position... but from a pure all around talent perspective... he might be worth it.

no way would I take him at 3. Trade down and if he's not there, then someone else will be.

He'll be the better player than Zadina IMO

If Timmins felt that way, but even then teams usually have a good idea of where a player is going or what teams heavily scouted what guys. So if Dobson is there guy but they think he doesn't go till 10th or 12th then trade down and hope you are right.

I agree. But also, if Dobson goes 1o-12, NHL scouts are f***ing stupid

seems like a strange draft year, after 2 it seems so up in the air till about 12 or so. Can't wait to read Bobby Mac's final draft rankings, should give a much clearer picture.

It should for sure. I think we'll take Zadina in the end, and three years down the line everyone will complain about it.

I trust Timmins 100% when it comes to picking inside the top 10. But no matter who they pick, people here will complain. Aside from the 2012 draft, I've never seen a Habs draft were posters weren't up in arms and I've been here since the '01 draft.

I wouldn't expect there to be with such a big fanbase, just stating my own personal opinion

Ironically enough, the 2012 draft was the sexiest draft in recent memory. Everyone thought we nailed each pick and gave the Habs an A the day after the draft. Galchenyuk and Hudon are the only players to come out of that draft...

I trust Timmins in the top 10-12 range too. And that Sergachev pick was amazing!

Btw, what did you guys think of Noah Dobson? Very professional player. Anticipates the plus very well. Very calm and poise with the puck but I feel that if more rushed or pressed, he might be overwhelmed. But all in all, very exciting prospect. Worthy of 3rd overall? I’d go for Tkachuk or Zadina.

I'm curious to see if Dobson's performance at the Memorial Cup pushes him up anymore. I could see Ottawa definitely taking a long look at him if Boqvist is gone.
