Eh, that's not entirely accurate.
Andersson actually posted better point per game totals in his D+1 and D+2 seasons than Kravtsov is posting now, and he was younger for some of that time.
In fact, even Kravtsov's current totals are closer to Andersson's this season, in which everything went to hell in a hand basket, then it is to Andersson's production at similar ages or younger.

Not his production...the attitude. Go in, put the work in, and develop.
I care more about kravtsov busting his ass defensively to break up plays that points tbh. Skill was never his issue ..commitment to defense and trying to dangle thru everyone was.
Andersson should need to see a mental specialist. very mentally soft with a bad attitude when things don't go his way. some children act more mature than Andersson has

Really happy to see that this kid is generating a good chunk of primary assists and driving play. If he keeps it up, he might earn himself a cup of coffee at some point this season.

The points are certainly nice. The clips of himm backchecking his butt off as well as @Kovalev27 giving him strong reviews are what I want to hear. Points come and go. But the underlying effort and decision making needs to be sound.
I've always said I'm generally less concerned with the end result than the general process.
Playing a game like crap but winning never makes me happy. Playing extremely well but losing doesn't bother me in the slightest. In the end variance fixes itself.

Eh, both guys are pretty young and bolted the team after being sent to Hartford for whatever reasons in the same season. One came back, buckled down and has made strides, the other is still figuring it out with little info on what actually happened. I know its tired already I concur, but you can't help contrasting them and what better place to do it than in their individual player threads?

The backchecking was always part of his game. I wasn't worried about him showing that. It's good to see that he is starting to feel more comfortable in the AHL now. With his recent performance, and the trade deadline just weeks away, it could be leading to a call up soon. I wonder if they feel comfortable giving him a shot in the NHL at the end of the season
I’d bet, unless he goes into a tailspin, that they will give him a taste. Even if it’s just one game, I think it’s a smart move long-term from the Rangers standpoint.
Especially when the team isn’t battling for a playoff spot.

It wasn't really there in t.c. or in the preseason..but I hear ya. I'm just going on what I saw personally in that sample.
He's getting more shots on net which is key. He's definitely still learning what to do with the puck on his stick and is not NHL-ready, IMO.
I think the recent "surge" in production is driven a lot by luck--in that he was having no luck before, but is actually getting some now. His play isn't substantially different than it was three weeks ago, IMO. Which isn't a bad thing, given he's 18 and making progress.

While playing overseas Kravtsov did show that he wasn’t allergic and had ability to comeback to forecheck. However, learning to understand when and how to do it in the NHL is how I view his task while in Hartford.
Credit to him for dedicating himself to getting better. If he keeps improving the whole bolting back to Russia thing will be a very distant memory by the time training camp opens next year.

Agreed. I don’t care what anyone says. Our top prospects should have a lot more leeway and be somewhat coddled (though not too much) if necessary.

Isn’t this an extension of something Knoblauch said recently? That Kravtsov had been good, but wasn’t getting any bounces at all?
After his flight earlier in the season, I’d say it’s a huge mark of progress for him to stick with it despite not getting the production. Now he’s getting rewarded.
