Think he read your post ;) He scored a goal & had 6 shots on goal tonight. From all reports he's been a different player since returning to Hartford from Russia, everyone says he's been doing all the things the coaches ask of him and having a good attitude. I think he's still going to live up to the hype, he's just having a bit of difficulty transitioning to the North American game as his style is a very flashy almost pond hockey-esque one where he tries dangling through 3 players by himself lol. He oozes skill but he has to adapt to the pace and less space on NHL ice

Watching tonight’s game against Utica. Paying close attention to Kravtsov. Had a horrendous giveaway deep in his own zone that led to Utica’s tie breaking 4th goal.

aside from that, #91’s effort is definitely worrisome. He does not look engaged whatsoever.

man, I hope my general feelings about his chances of panning out are wrong. But it does not look to be trending in the right direction for him.

awesome.......he thought he was too good for the AHL......comes back and cant score there either. I'd be less concerned if he was only 17 or 18, but hes 20 years old.

With the lack of prospect forward depth we have if this kid doesn’t work out (along with Lias pretty much busting) someone has to take the hit. You just can’t have two consecutive top 10 picks not be able to contribute anything to your top 9 lineup.
I’m still holding out hope as he fills out and gets stronger his skills will be able to shine.

He's a top-10 pick, not a first overall. The fact that he isn't tearing it up at 20 isn't overly concerning. He has to adjust to the NA game. Next season in the AHL/NHL will be a barometer on his progress as he will have had some time to play and adjust.

Fair enough He definitely needs at least another year. Just saying that if he doesn’t become a top 9 forward it will be crushing to have back to back years top 10 picks be busts:

while i agree, the next few players taken after Lias, and after VK, have not done much better. In both drafts, we didn't suck as much as we should have, and missed the top talent by a slot or two.

move two slots up in both drafts, and we have Petterson and Hughes instead.

Yeah this is just not true. His effort has been there. His forecheck was the direct result of having the puck for the 1st goal.

He's back checking quite well and being in the right spots.

Yes, that was a bad turnover, but he's still learning and I don't think this is an accurate reflection of his game since coming back. In fact, it's the opposite

Yeah, that engagement thing is pretty much the exact opposite of what everyone else here is saying. But hey, I'm sure you know what you're talking about and everyone else is wrong

Yeah I haven't exactly been upbeat about his game since coming back, but he's definitely engaged and working hard.

I just think he has no idea what to do in the offensive end.

Odd, everyone has been saying the opposite of what you just said.

Didn’t watch last nights game but I haven’t seen a lack of effort at all since he’s come back.

he looked very good Wednesday after he scored that goal. Was making plenty of plays.

unfortunately Hartford has not played well on the road. Not just one guy. It’s a problem.
