Report: Tim Liljegren is hurt in Toronto, they have called in Philippe Broberg, a 17 y/o, to replace him on the preliminary roster. Broberg is a placeholder, he is not making the team. They don't want to bring in a D tremendously disappointed from not making the team just to practice with the team a few days when everyone knows he will be the last cut.

According to Keefe its a sprained ankle and they are trying to do everything they can to have him ready for the WJC. However -- its a 3-8 week injury. The tournament starts in 3 weeks, and they of course want whomever going to it, to be able to hit the ice running. Its up to 7 games in 10 days or something, 7 Ds and 13 forwards. Two guys goes down either at forward or D you have to play shorthanded the rest of the tournament.

Normally someone like Liljegren who has WJC experience and is doing well in the AHL is a huge addition for any WJC team. But Sweden already have a bunch of PMDs/PPQBs.

I think Lundkvist and Ragnarsson's shot at making the team just increased pretty much.

I still think ragnarsson is the odd man out but I think Lundkvist is a lock for a top 6 spot after hearing the coaches comments. Awesome for him he’s so young.

I think he's more mobile than Stralman.

I feel the same way, but stylistically, he's the same type of player, is what I see. He's not an overly offensive guy but can get involved. He's a good defender, but not overly physical. He's just a steady two-way defender that probably slots on a second pairing and could possibly even anchor that pairing if all goes right.
