My wife was not a happy camper when I decided to educate her on this little piece of trivia (she's '72 while I'm '74 :naughty: ).

Playing now, first period was very uneventful, then they just had, by far,the longest intermission interview I’ve ever seen with the assistant coach/head recruiter for Wisconsin where they talked about the 5 players that committed for next season individually and then all of them as a whole, and that was the whole intermission

Miller not having a great game tonight, nothing super egrious, but he’s had a few turnovers from trying to force passes through people. He’s off the first PP unit, but he’s QBing the second unit now, so sort of a reward, sort of a demotion. Announcers talked a little about Miller, basically just rattled off his scouting report: tons of skill and upside, great athlete, just needs to find consistency while playing at a high level.

He'll learn.

It's the ups and down in his first year against non-teenagers.

What's important is that he does learn and become a better athlete/player because of it.

And now Miller gets a secondary assist on a 4 on 4 goal by Brock Caufield. He got the puck behind the net after a defensive zone face off, came out and drew a defender then passed it to Baker who carried it through the neutral zone and into the offensive zone and fed it cross ice to Caufield for an easy goal
Thank u for the updates and not talking about what # he may wear.

There are those of us who REALLY appreciate it

*praise*

I call it Zuccitis.

No one is going to be on every game, no matter how good they may be.

I second the post above this one, your updates are very well appreciated.

I will say, it’s not even like he’s been bad, just mostly quiet compared to how he’s played most of the season. The turnovers he’s made haven’t directly led to any scoring chances, and he hasn’t been on for any of Penn St’s 3 goals so far.

And as I’m typing this he just had a really good set up play, he got the puck at center ice, skated in and around a defender but was a little too deep to cut to the front of the net so he passed it out front from the side of the net and whoever the player was the got the shot almost scored

Edit: and I don’t know where else I’d say this, I’ll say it here: Hawks got a really good one in Barratt, and Emberson looks like his ceiling is a prime Marc Staal

Jumped up on the rush twice in the last 10 minutes of the third and got the puck both times, first one he couldn’t get a shot off because the pass was in his skates and the second one he got the pass cleaner but still not totally settled, looked up and I think he was waiting for someone to get to the net but the defender was closing off his shooting lane so he took a shot and the goalie stopped it and held on for a whistle. OT is starting now

Miller got the 4th shootout attempt for Wisconsin and went pretty wide, got a little too deep and had to try to do a last second Forsberg type move that the goalie stopped

What did they say about Turcotte?

Real Rangery defensive mistake: Miller and Emberson go to one player along the boards, that player gets the puck to a forward all alone in front of the goal and he dekes out the goalie and scores. It’s 1-1 three minutes into the game

Miller is a zone entry gaining and denying machine. Almost had a secondary assist on a powerplay just now but the pass from not Miller was too hard and the puck bounced over the forwards stick while he was trying to onetime it from a weird angle

Miller with a secondary assist, he kept the puck in at the blue line on a Penn St clearing attempt, faked a shot to freeze the Penn St forward coming at him and passed it to a Wisconsin forward who sent a cross ice pass to another Wisconsin forward who scored

I lied, he didn’t fake a shot at all. The replay they showed made me think he did for some reason, but maybe that was just the angle/slow mo/my attention span

On for another goal against, he was watching the play a little bit but the goal got scored from a quick shot in the high slot on a pretty broken play after a Wisconsin player blocked a point shot. It’s 4-3 Penn St on 32 total shots in 33 minutes, kind of a wild one so far
