@GeorgeKaplan Your posts almost make it sound like he's too good for the NCAA. How exaggerated is that interpretation?
I wouldn’t say he’s too good for the NCAA right now. He definitely still has some parts of his game that need polishing, mostly in the way he reads some plays offensively. I think it’s mostly that he’s still figuring out what he can and can’t get away with as a defenseman. But he’s definitely impressed me a lot with how good the good stuff in his game has been and how much he’s been trusted by his coaching staff already. If he isn’t already, he’s going to be the best defenseman on Wisconsin by the end of the season

Too good is a stretch in my opinion, he isn't exactly Brent Burns out there. However, for a freshman to be so comfortable and to make such an impact in a game is very impressive and if he can keep this up consistently then he will definitely go pro after his sophomore year.

FIFY.

If he keeps this up, he will put together one of the more dominant freshman seasons from a D in quite sometime.

He probably wont though.

I’d be happy with him finishing at like .5PPG, but with Granato putting him in all the prime situations he has been, he might be able to finish the year with a stat line that looks like what Quinn Hughes (5-24-29 in 37 games .783PPG) or Brady Tkachuk (8-23-31 in 40 games .775PPG) has last year.

If he ends up with 0.5 PPG that's a very good year IMO.

Very small sample size but hes off to a great start and the coaches have faith in him since hes playing in all situations.

Biggest thing is not to rush him. Let him play in the NCAA until he has nothing left to learn. Points are great but he is still learning the position.

I said this after the Rangers drafted him that he has top pairing potential. He has the tools he needs to develop the tool box. Let him keep progressing.

Cant wait to see him in the WJC.

As the schedule gets tougher I'd be more keen on watching some gameplay footage, I know he has been an absolute stud so far but the opponents haven't been powerhouse teams. Also have high expectations for him at WJC, if he can dominate defensively there (dont care about the points), I would be very happy.

Worth noting that Wisconsins Schedule is toughening up quite a bit now so expect Miller to slow down.

Wisconsin’s November schedule includes UND, Minnesota, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State. Could you or anyone else provide a context beyond that North Dakota, Minnnesota and Michigan have strong hockey programs?
