How the hell did the Bruins get the Rags to take on Belesekey??? 50% wow... I guess the Rags like Spooner a lot?

Jvr would get more than Nash, he is younger by 5 years, and cheaper and better

Dreger said other gms told him if jvr were on the market he’d be number 1 forward available. Now it’s up to you what you make of that it is dreger

We are crazy not trading JVR and Bozak. We could contend right after with a good pickup the same day. Nylander is a C damn good one.

To #Bruins:
F Rick Nash (50% retained)

To #Rangers
2018 1st RD pick
2019 7th RD pick
F Matt Beleskey (% retained - TBD)
F Ryan Spooner
D Ryan Lindgren (signing rights)

Depending on how much the Bruins are retaining on Belesky, that is a solid return for the Rangers.

I'd argue that Ryan Spooner is better than Rick Nash

Wow, apparently Bruins are retaining 50% of Beleskey's deal.

Bruins fans seem upset lol

So basically, they gave up Bozak, a younger Andrew Neilsen, a slightly more offensive Matt Martin, and a 1st round pick and a 7th for Nash @ 50%.

Quite the haul.

Lmao terrible deal for the Bruins. If anything they downgraded from Spooner to Nash, they didnt even get rid of all of Beleskey's contract.

Not even an argument.. statistically Spooner has been more productive than Nash.

With the Leafs playing Tampa tomorrow, I'd have to imagine any deal that would involve a current roster player (i.e. Brown, Kapanen, etc.) would go down today.

OFFICIAL: #NYR have acquired a first-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, defenseman Ryan Lindgren, forwards Ryan Spooner and Matt Beleskey, and a seventh-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft from the Bruins in exchange for Rick Nash.

Beleskey was a cap dump so they had to sweeten the pot by adding Spooner. Hopefully this screws up their chemistry royally. I like it if I am a Rangers fan.

Yeah I edited swings it back to rangers favor that does. How many years left on belesky?

I believe 2 more after this one.

At 1.9 that’s not bad at all. And Rangers are scorching off, so they need someone to play.

Next deadline they could retain 50% on Belesky again and deal him for an asset at 800K lmao

Nash is a really good player but Boston paid a crap load to get him....Wow

So Nash is still a effective enough forward at offense but still not dependable on defense. He's like an older JVR.

Does this make anyone who was anti-trade-JVR re-think? I'm trying to resist it myself.

Seemed like a pretty good return for Nash, if we can use those assets to bring an upgrade on D somehow I think I'd be for it.
