I tend to agree because I don't see the Giants being as bad as they were last year again. Not saying they'll contend but there's too much talent here to go 3-13 with competent coaching.
I suppose after the backlash last year, they're afraid of having to push Eli out if the next guy is ready in a year. But like you said, the team might not be in a position to draft the next guy when Eli either finally hangs it up or dies playing behind Flowers.
I think they’ll be way worse than people think. Wouldn’t rule out something like 4-12 and I’m not sure there’s going to be a 1-15 team this year or even 2-14 so 4-12 might get you a darn good pick. Honestly at this point anyone who takes one side or the other on Darnold it’s just too early to know. I have a hunch he may resemble Mark Brunell. A very effective guy at managing the game and completing short passes but not great on long passes. Without that long game its tough for a QB to be successful in the postseason. I want to say he will be the best QB in the draft but I’m not sure if in 10 years that’ll really be saying much.
