Think Kareem hunt last season. That Darnold pick 6 was the most Jets thing ever. And now it’s great to laugh about it and I’m sure he’s so relieved it’s meaningless.
That went about as well as it could have, and after how it started, it was a ****ing dream week one.
Also still loling at the giants for not taking darnold
dude falls in their lap and they say “nope, lets take a running back”
It does. It really does. I didn't want Darnold but I sure as heck do now. I am actually excited about this team for once.ya’ll laughed when i said watch out for the jets
its too early they said
darnold is special boys. it sure feels nice having a great young QB jets fans huh
I just chuckle to myself when all the preseason publications would list the Jets last, or least talented, or whatever. Implying they had a garbage roster. It's just because they're the Jets; they get no respect. Not that they've been a great franchise and deserve a bunch of it, but still. It's over the top. Like when last season people were saying they'd win no games or maybe one. Get f***ing real.I don't think the Jets are making the playoffs, but the division sucks so they could have a decent record. By decent I mean 7-9 or 8-8.
Buffalo might be the worst team in the league. Miami, despite winning week 1, has an awful roster too.
outside the division they have some winnable games - Browns, Colts, Titans.
I don't think they're a 9/10 win team, but their schedule doesn't look like a 4/5 win team either.
Darnold is for real. Sucks the Giants took saquon and still didn't fix the o line

And there won’t be other running backs? Plenty of great running backs have been picked in the later rounds; the hit rate is much better than taking a QB in that range, by far. Frankly, QBs are just straight up more important and more valuable. There will be other quarterbacks. The Giants haven't been able to run the ball since 2012.

Besides, there is certainly no guarantee the Giants will be in a position to draft a QB like Darnold any time soon.
But to Saquon's credit, he couldn't have started better.

The have good WRs, a potentially really good young QB, solid RBs, a decent offensive line (however it is perilously thin), okay DL, decent LBs (although no pass rush from there), and excellent secondary. They look like they might have a really nice return game, though the coverage unit will probably suck again. P and K are fine.
They're not a garbage team. I honestly wonder how some of these pundits get paid to write the trash that they do.

Right. I have no expectsexpec of the playoffs. With a rookie QB, even if hesh great, there will be mistakes. The OL and lack of a pass rush will be problems all years. 8-8 isn't unreasonable. I could see them getting lucky and maybe going 9-7 and at least being in the playoff conversation, but that's it. I actually expect like 7-9, but with the pieces they currently have plus the cap space for next year to hopefully address the weaknesses (we'll see, Mac has neglected them for a while), I like where they're at. Within the next two seasons they could be really competitive. They are not garbage but I don't see you making playoffs. Wouldn't be surprised to see you finish 8-8.
Happy to be wrong.
Yep pretty much exactly this. I don't remember if it was ESPN, but someone had the offense last and defense like third from the bottom.Yeah I agree.
When ESPN did their rankings for the rosters in the league, they had them 3rd worst I think? That seemed really extreme.
They have some holes without a doubt. Both O/D lines aren't great and I think we're all aware of that. But there's a lot of talent in WR, the RBs are fine, and their Secondary has some real players.
They're not gonna make the playoffs. Darnold is going to struggle, as all rookie QBs do. The coaching is a bit suspect to me. But I don't see them being one of the worst teams in the league.
Most people seem to base their predictions of next season on last season. But you just can't do that with the NFL.Yep pretty much exactly this. I don't remember if it was ESPN, but someone had the offense last and defense like third from the bottom.
We'll see how it all plays out. All I'm expecting is for them to be playing some meaningful games in a couple months. I'd be happy with that.
