It would have been interesting, if San Jose would have won Vegas on a playoff series.

I think our picks would have been:

#6, #23, #32 #36

Then our picks would have probably been

#6 Zadina
#23 Merkley
#32 Veleno/Berggren
#36 McIsaac

#6 - Zadina
#30 - Joe Veleno
#33 - Akil Thomas
#36 - Jared McIsaac/Woo (was Wilde at the time but if so many people passed on him, and with us only picking 1 d, I get it)
#67 - Jake Wise

Don’t know enough about the rest, but I would have taken a fliar on eggenberger as well

Only change I make is wilde at 33. For the top 4.

After that not sure, making taken lapointes kid in the 7th because you know family ties and it worked with the bertuzzi pick(even though he could've been taken in the 7th as he was rated like 280).

I'm happy with the draft. So are the so-called hockey people.

I'm happy with our actual draft also, just fun to play along with "who would you have picked?"
My research on players in the late 1st early 2nd focused almost entirely on defensemen, so I knew little of the forwards we picked, but am very happy with them.

I like first 5 for sure . Zavgorodny went 210 to flames could be steal of the draft and instead 2 goaltenders we could of get just 1

Kivenmaki, really... you must think he is the next Zetterberg or just an Andersson brown-noser.
I have no one I knew about left so I just stuck with the Wings pick. But I like going for tiny skill guys especially in the seventh.

Went with Kjellberg just for the name. We need a K-berg to replace Z-berg.

Are we assuming no trades?

It's fair to include that requirement, or to allow for it, as long as reasonable evidence is provided for fair pick value. But it makes a big difference in who I'd list.

I see what your attempting to play into, as we would all love to say "get Zadina at 6 and move up for Dobson" or something of the sort, but I think it's entirely too subjective. You can grab a pick value chart as your evidence, but I don't see that as being reliable because everything evolves differently from draft to draft. The popular demand was trading up to 12 to pick Dobson; you show me a valuation chart that you find reasonable, I'm still going to be under the impression that the pick wasn't for sale after how things played out 1-10.

I'd say you can't change the organization's approach to when they picked; only who they picked with their pre-existing picks. That allows for comparison from list to list without taking into consideration realism or other variables.

That's fair, but also realize it's a huge assumption that changing an earlier pick does not change who's available for a later pick.

Post one with, and one without if you want.

I always do mine with the actual picks we have.

I would assume no trades because assuming a team wants to trade with us is some NHL 19 type stuff.
