I can agree with that but I do think that the major thing holding women back is that they are physically disadvantaged compared to men. They're determined, persistent, have great character, but just often come up a little short when we're talking about size, strength, flexibility, etc. Women's and men's bodies are significantly different relative to one another. Muscle formation, bone density, bone structure, ligament size and formation and more (I'm not a doctor or anything, so maybe I'm wrong it's just what I've read). Check this article out:I was comparing the ratio of men that choose to heavily invest in sports versus women. Just that simple, no need to extrapolate it out into something bigger. I get that some of that is outlook and opportunity related as well.
The female ACL: Why is it more prone to injury?
It's an article explaining how ACL injuries occur and how women tend to get them a lot more (3.5 times more in basketball and 2.8 times more in soccer!). Just one of the ways women have it a little rougher in athletics just due to body physiology.
