Sabres 1st (2nd-5th) + Risto and Bogosian (40% salary retained) for 1st overall + smaller cap dump
I wouldn't do this as a Buffalo fan. Rather have Risto and the pick.

22 YO 60 point centre on the lowest scoring team in the league, who is still improving, and a top 5 pick? Depends on who wins the lottery, and where they are at in a rebuild, but that is a pretty good package.
Fired!Nylander + Liljegren + 1st + Sparks
Prospect 2-5 and 2 first round picks.
Anyone but TL. Some future NHLers, no stars. We can't afford him really. How good is prospect 2-5? Because two 20+ picks aren't gonna cut it.

For a generational D on an ELC?Fired!
Um, anyone, even Provo2018 1st overall pick: What would your team be willing to give up?
With Dahlin slated to go #1, we're talking about a guy with Connor McDavid/Auston Matthews pedigree and hype.
What would your team be willing to give up in order to acquire the 1st overall of 2018?
So would I and imo Provo is really the only "untouchable" on the teamThe team wouldn’t, but I’d be interested in discussing Provorov + the better of the STL/PHL 1sts + something else significant.
Um, wow, that's a lot to give up but if it doesn't cost us Provo then I'm all for it2018 PHI 1st, 2019 PHI 1st (protected top5), STL 1st + choice of Sanheim/Myers
Both players are UFA
Yup, take our unwanted trash for your diamonds, lolProbably the worst offer ever.
So a second line center or a franchise D man.....
Horvat is more of a 1A center than a 2nd line center (and if he isn’t, he is certainly trending that way).
Trading Horvat+ a 1st for Dahlin would be akin to robbing Peter to pay Paul. Yes, the Canucks would have a franchise D man, but now they’d have a serious lack of depth at center. Pettersson may not even trend as a center. With Henrik on the verge of retirement, the Canucks need atleast another young bonafide top center to complement Horvat.
Give the minor guys a chance?
If I'm 1st overall I ask for another 1st and this years 2nd on top of that. If Dahlin is at the level of a McDavid or Matthews he's worth at least that.Say Mtl picks top 5 (not 1st overall). I'd do Pacioretty + that top 5 pick.
Matthews Hype maybe, not even close to McDavid hype though.2018 1st overall pick: What would your team be willing to give up?

Why? He is not that good. If he is your #1C you are a very bad team.I personally would NOT be willing to give up Horvat.
