Carolina blew their load in the last round. The thought of that Rat Marchand or Joe Thornton winning the Cup makes me nauseous!!!

Hate to say it but Rask has played really well pretty much every time I’ve seen him.
Honestly I don't think he's been amazing, I think Carolina has been shooting really poorly. Haven't seen any top shelf shots, never hit the post, lot of center mass shots, never see deflections. A team like San Jose will expose him.

They did a good job at shooting into his chest...a lot. Missed a few wide open nets too.

Marchand is an animal! A point per game throughout the playoffs and just had his best season. His antics don't even bother me, he's too good.

He actually toned down his act during the regular season by all accounts.

I think guys in the organization like Cam Neely told him to take clown act out of his game and put his big boy pants on.

I thought he was pretty average at the start of the Toronto series but from the midway point of that series through to now, he has been real good. When the chips are on the table, he’s all in and that’s what you want from a guy of his caliber.

Yeah well... you have questionable morals. :-P

Imagine some of the greatest moments in the past being subject to a review before a determination is made if the goal is legal or not. Just kill the excitement of an OT winner with a review.

Give coaches/refs/the league an inch, they take a mile. Especially coaches. Their jobs depend too directly on the outcome of games. They will look for any reason to have a play reviewed. They at least have to take away the coach's review. It's coming from too subjective a place. You can't allow coaches to dictate a situation like that.

Marchand already has his name on there.

You want bad timing for a player signing a contract? Look no further than Marchand. He signed his current deal in Sept 2016. He's had his best 3 seasons in the 3 years since signing the deal, improving his points per game each season. Including 37 points in 34 playoff games. And he just turned 31. So just like Burns in SJ, the further they get from 30, the more points they put up. He could easily be making a lot more money had he had better timing. Great for the Bruins though. Not to mention a couple other 33 year old's in Krejci and Bergeron doing well. Boston can survive wasting $6m in cap space on Backes because those other 3 old dudes are more than pulling their weight.

Coyle. 12g in 81 regular season games. 6g in 16 playoff games.

As far as Boston is concerned, timely saves and and a fourth line that can get matched up with any other teams line is whats getting it done. Wagner, Kuraly and Nordstrom are forechecking the hell out of other teams. Two or three times last night a defenseman on Carolina looked like they had enough times to clear the puck up the boards and one of those guys would close the gap get something on the puck to hold it in and hem them in their zone. Those guys have been rocking like that all playoffs. It reminds me of the 2012 Kings. I remember Sutter saying that he didn't line match you just rolled the four lines and they took care of business, if they couldn't match up they didn't deserve to win.

Sharks stats on the road aren't pretty. Blues better take advantage of their next 2 games at home.
