Hi guys, I think I've been a member here since 2012. I used to post nearly everyday but other life ventures have preoccupied me I guess. I still love this forum and read it nearly everyday. I'm local in STL and really owe everyone on HFboards for really helping me grow my hockey knowledge. As I look back at some of my old posts I realize how silly I was with some of my statements and arguments as well as my trade proposals!

Anyway, I'm in my twenties so I haven't suffered at all compared to some of you guys here, but some of my greatest memories as a child and teen were attending Blues games with my dad and brother. Once we actually made the cover page of the Blues website maybe 10 years ago. My dad hugged me after a goal, I still have that picture framed. Seeing my dad when the team clinched and made it to the cup finals will always stay with me. This year has obviously been a whirlwind and I'm so pumped for the final round.

Sorry for the rambling, I'm just so grateful to be on this forum. Sharing feelings and memories with everyone here has been incredibly special.

Good to see you back. Sorry we had our arguments back when we were trading for JBo (now he's been a key cog to getting us to the cup in this playoff run). I don't think you were alone in the Miller trade, I was all for it an had actually predicted we'd trade for him during training camp that season, I wasn't willing to wait until the deadline. Either way, both trades ended up not really affecting our prospect pool that much. They may have been high risks at the time but with Bill Armstrong's draft knowledge, I don't think there were players that interested us that much those years and it proves by who Buffalo and Calgary picked with those picks.
It's true I was lukewarm on Bouwmeester which happened in early 2013. This board spent 24 months dissecting LD around the league, so we all went deep on our preferences. You'll recall I preferred two other spring/summer 2012 options that I spent a lot of energy on: (1) Giordano trades and (2) sign Garrison as UFA and draft a D – probably would have taken Shea Theodore. Either of those options would have the Blues in a fine, fine situation so it's all good.

uhhhhhh late to the party I see.

I was a lurker for a year or so before joining a year or two ago. I am one of the younger ones here probably at 21. Been a life long Blues fan since birth probably (maybe joking, idk). My family had season tickets from 07-10 which was pivotal in my growth in the hockey world, watching that team beat CBJ at home and clinch a playoff spot for the first time in awhile was amazing is still is one of my favorite moments of all time. Hard to find others around my age around me that love hockey as much as I do, but hey what are ya gonna do. Seeing the Blues lift the cup would be one of, if not, the best moment of my life as I've seen enough to know the struggle. My father who was born in '67 won't be able to see it unfortunately, but I suppose that's part of the beauty of the dedication and love behind this sport is that we live for these types of moments and we cherish them to the grave ourselves. I can't wait for tomorrow.

I remember you banging the drum for Garrison a lot. You had me convinced he was the best choice. He later nixed a trade to St Louis anyway (or was it turned down an UFA deal, I can't remember). In hindsight, I don't think he would have been so great here, so it worked out.

Great idea for a thread!

I joined HF back in 2007 (my username was Chiodos), right before I turned 16. I’m 28 now and post much, much less. I’m a Blues fan because of my dad, who was a kid when the Blues started their franchise. My dad was at game 4 Stanley Cup final, when the Canadiens won in 1969. My dad jumped the boards and touched Jean Beliveau on the ice. If anyone has video/knows where to find video of that cup win, my dad and I would love to try to find the 10 year old with long blonde hair creeping on the Canadiens legend.

The Blues back in the final is so unreal. I became a fan when my parents bought Center Ice, and we could consistently watch Blues games, as my family lives in Tampa, Florida. We started it during the 2005-2006 season, and I loved watching Keith Tkachuk, Curtis Sanford, and Lee Stempniak. This team has come a long, long way since then.

Hey everyone! Member since 2011 but I rarely post as I mostly like to sit back and read the comments and opinions. Currently stationed in the Northern Virginia, DC area.

I grew up in the St. Louis area but my job takes me all over the country so I always adopt the local team as a #2 with the Blues as my #1.

This has been an incredible run and I can't believe we are in the finals. This is something my dad and I dreamed of for the last 20 years. I only wish I was back in St. Louis to enjoy this in person with him.

Hey yall, I'm SBF, just got back from Deployment. Huge Schwartz fan so this playoffs has been a dream come true for me. Missed talking to you guys about hockey this season. LET'S GO BLUES!

Awesome to have you and other service members back, hopefully those still deployed can watch their Blues in the SCF some way or another.

I'll be getting assigned to San Diego with the Navy a year from now after I finish my medical education. Will be my first time living away from St. Louis for longer than 6 weeks. The fact that I'm getting to see the SCF my last year in STL is truly incredible.

Wanted to add my daughter into the roll call. My first born was born on January 10th this year just around the time we started turning our season around. Her first night she got to experience her first Blues game with a 4-1 win vs Montreal. My step-father said as JBo scored on the rush with the pass from Fabbri on Carey Price that we were going to win the cup this year. She has not missed a game since and even at almost 5 months old knows when the game is starting up by the sounds of the announcers and the screen turns mostly white as players fly over the ice.

Hi, my name is Charlie and I'm a Bluesaholic...

Not really sure what to say, flattered to be thought of @EastonBlues22 .

I've posted a bit of my background in other threads before. Won't go into too much detail here because I enjoy the anonymity that a forum like this provides and am generally wary of sharing personal information online. Plus my story is frankly not that interesting.

Here are some cliff notes:
- born and raised in StL in the late 80's thru mid 2000's
- Blues fan since birth
- hockey player of unremarkable skill from age 5 or 6 thru present
- moved west for college and currently live in Colorado
- friend I play hockey with happens to be a former HF board moderator and suggested this site to me in 2015
- value this community and being able to adsorb the knowledge of the many posters smarter than me :)

@Robb_K solve the puzzle.
Your name is also one letter off of "thank you" in Arabic, IF Arabic were spelt using Roman letters. Ranksu, solve the puzzle! :naughty:

As to your puzzle: I surmise that your real name is Bortuzzo, only one letter off of Bertuzzi (as in Todd), and you are really Italian, rather than Finnish! Am I right????? I see now that I'm too old to realise that Bortuzzo is TWO letters off from Bertuzzi. :(
