The last time someone was "out until Christmas" it was the end of their career.
Amid speculation that neither Allison nor Adam Deadmarsh will return this season, General Manager Dave Taylor said, "I guess there's that possibility."
Allison remains an invisible part of the Kings, showing up as early as 7 a.m. for off-ice workouts at the team training complex and often leaving before the rest of the team arrives hours later.
He has not skated in more than a month and still feels symptoms that include blurry vision and light-headedness, contributing to a prolonged absence that led to tensions last month when Allison disputed Coach Andy Murray's assessment that Allison had been medically cleared to play. Allison called it "basically a lie" and defended his condition.
Allison, 28, declined to comment for this story. A team policy initiated last month forbids King employees from talking to reporters about Allison, with the exception of General Manager Dave Taylor.
Throughout the summer, King management indicated that Jason Allison and Adam Deadmarsh would be back at the beginning of the season.
Then, just before the season started, it was announced that the players would be back in November. Then November came and went. Then the Kings said Allison would be back after Christmas.
Now Andy Murray indicates that he may not be back at all this season and Allison accused someone in the Kings' organization of lying about it.
I can only assume that King management lied to keep season seat renewals and sales high. This is sad, but it is a business.
But do you have articles from when the Kings had that big losing streak that cost them a playoff spot?
Memories. The one that cost Andy Murray his job and Torchetti was named his replacement? Not long after that was the start of the Dean Lombardi era, which was pretty rough the first couple of years in.
Justin Williams also had health issues. That trade turned out fine for us.
I'd rather Vilardi get fully healthy. If that means he's out until Christmas, then he's out until Christmas.
There's a reason why Thompson and Clifford have been in the league so long.that's completely false
Dwight King was on our first goddamn line for crying out loud, yet he's lucky to get a PTO on a Pee Wee team; players being in or out of a roster has less to do with the player than how garbage your roster is
i think Etem can do as "fine" of a job as Clifford or Thompson or Brodzinski
but ultimately, none of those 4 should be on any roster other than Seattle
Those were fun times.

Good lord were those some depressing times to be a Kings fan.
Maybe trading him for Patioready isn't too bad of an idea considering the fact Vilardi seems to have legit health issues.
Those were the only years I legitimately stopped watching Kings hockey, like 2003-2005 era. I was a junior and senior in HS during their runs in 2001 and 2002. After that, with all the Lie-weekly stuff and Deadmarsh and Allison going the way of the dodo, I basically didn’t start watching again until 05/06.

NHL Points Per GameThere's a reason why Thompson and Clifford have been in the league so long.
They both can be valuable assets to teams. Brodzinski on the other hand is a question mark. It's make or break for him. I don't give a **** what he produces in the AHL, do something in the big league.
Why is it so hard for a team called the "Kings" to have a logo with a crown on it.
Best jersey the Kings ever had was the crown logo from about 12-15 years ago. Instead we get home plates, chevy logos and a lion with sunglasses.
If he's so much better than Clifford and Thompson then he should make it over them.NHL Points Per Game

Clifford does hit and fight more of course, but he's also putting the team in short handed situations more often. There's not much he's better at than JB.
He's not so much better than Clifford. He's just slightly better, cheaper, and has more upside. If he's so much better than Clifford and Thompson then he should make it over them.
Did you not read the stats? The only reason they have higher point totals is because they played more games. Brodzinski scored at a higher rate than Clifford.Brozinski will most likely get zero PP time and zero PK time leaving him in the bottom six where he's shown that he can't produce. Both Clifford and Thompson out scored Brodz and was able to provide physicality that's not part of his game.
Nate Thompson scored the same amount of points in much less games with the Kings while being able to play on the PK and have one of the highest face off win rates in the league. He's not so much better than Clifford. He's just slightly better, cheaper, and has more upside.
Thompson kills penalties and wins face offs. Neither of which Clifford does.
I have nothing against Clifford. I think he's an adequate bottom 6 forward.

Exactly. It's not like Brodzinski is some 19 year old coming off great seasons in the AHL.Not sure how much more upside Brodzinski has. He's 2 years younger than Clifford, and with his skill, hasn't been able to establish regular minutes in the NHL.
I don't think he's a bad player, but some can't (or don't) play their game with higher stakes.
You get what you get out of Clifford. He's not a world beater, but his game doesn't change. You'll always expect more from Brodzinski.
